I work in local news, which is very different from national news, but any issue that has a left/right divide has a similar kind of pattern that’s painful to watch. I had too much to say for a single post so I did it as a screenshot.

I've noticed that the journos that have progressive views on gender personally, have strong integrity, but value a false philosophy of journalistic
"neutrality" that requires getting both sides everywhere, no matter what, whereas journos that are conservative have less integrity, are more willing to portray only one slanted view they like. Why is it like this... idk, but conservative journos feel more comfortable doing this, while others act like they have to be extremely cautious.

Ok from the headline it looked to me like it could be *another* *different* parasite, but no this is cyclospora still.

A new outbreak of cyclosporiasis is under investigation, with at least 72 cases reported so far, the FDA said Wednesday.
There is currently no known source yet for the new outbreak, the Food and Drug Administration said.
Cases of cyclosporiasis, an intestinal illness caused by the cyclospora parasite, have swelled to 11,500 in 41 states, with more than 4,000 cases confirmed, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

It's really fucked up how Olivia Rodrigo's new album retreats into further silence as she falls more out of love. It's eerie as shit. It feels similar to Everywhere at the End of Time by The Caretaker, especially with the way Olivia emphasizes "memories going dark" at the end of the album.

I always associated Sabrina Carpenter with the conservative culture wave (not that she was necessarily conservative, but aesthetically it felt connected) but she has gone against that wave so hard with this new performance, and I want it to give me hope. I’m unsure though.

Just watched Dead Poets Society. Reeling at how they managed to critique white male culture without deconstructing the individualism at the core of it. Liberal film but aesthetically beautiful and open-ended enough to force you to think. It takes restraint to make Keating a bad teacher like that.

Trick:You can set it so it doesn’t track your yt history, and when it does that, it won’t show you the home page of recommendations or recommend shorts because thats based on your hist. All you have left is your subscriptions. Downside being,it also won’t remember where you left off in long videos.
