anyway i like noting this stuff down cause it's fairy small details that probably won't bother enough people to post about it but it was these small details that made me go yeah the VN is pretty neat and the fact that you lose some of this charm in the reboot is a bit unfortunate

but even outside of translation, here's a thing i liked in the original VN which was how they really get into the showing some of the computer portions with traceroutes here to give this scene more visual flair but this gets omitted from reboot entirely and its just a blank screen now 😶

i think it speaks more to how much better of a TL job the original version was cause there's alot of this stuff in reboot that got updated CGs but as a consequence just stay in japanese now

original s;g with english text in the science whiteboard explanations

s;g reboot with new CG for science whiteboard explanations but untranslated

have more thoughts now after going further into s;g reboot: technovision is missing which is a heavy blow ngl - that was one of the insert songs that gave the VN such an edge over the anime for me and like so many scenes i remember in the original got so nerfed cause they don't want to NVL anymore

ive been listening to these jet set radio song transistion compilations cause they are the coolest part of the in-game music mixing but then i saw this comment and wonder if i actually do have some form of adhd youtu.be/TWQWVVtSpuI

started playing steins;gate reboot and the thing that i like immediately is how they redid the music but the changes are so subtle and feels like it builds on the existing tracks instead of revamping. i usually don't like remastered versions of soundtracks but what i've heard is pretty solid so far.

for readers without context black tar is the xenoblade x battle theme which elicited the exact same vibe/reaction

Hap @haptick.bsky.social · 01/08/2026

even though it's like the most divisive track im still saddened they cut soul on fire from the quartet ver of blue reflection sun (or at the very least it hasn't been playing so far during battles) rip blue reflection's black tar

Hap @haptick.bsky.social · 15/12/2024
