The art deco Flying Lady hood ornament on this 80-some year old DeSoto looks even more ridiculous now that I see the image a second time. It had to be quite the sight when the car was new.

A dark red old car (DeSoto model) had a large translucent hood ornament in the art deco style of a nude woman, called the Flying Lady. It sits on a chrome mount on the red hood.
