There are 6 American men in the ATP top 20 and 7 American women in the WTA top 30. Yet neither team qualified for the final 8 in Davis Cup or BJK Cup later this year. Baffling.

Last night’s women’s SFs reminded of the 2004 #USOpen The stage was set for an all-American final with Davenport & Capriati as the favorites, but the Dementieva & Kuznetsova beat them 7-6 in the 3rd. This time, the Americans were the underdogs and outplayed by No. 1 Sabalenka & No. 2 Rybakina.

One of my favorite doubles moments to witness and stories to write was watching Rajeev Ram finally get his due in Davis Cup last year. He and Austin Krajicek won an epic 3-set battle against the Czechs in front of a packed home crowd in Delray Beach 🇺🇸 Cheers to a great career, Raj! 👊🏻
