82_MLN🍈 @hanidewmelon.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

honestly i just had fun trying to come up with the composition. also painstakingly figuring out how to tackle the background to make it nice despite not even being able to see majority of it 😭 i learned things! learning cool!

Thumbnail submission for Tindahan on Roblox! #robloxart | #artcontest

Roblox NPC Dodong smugly stealing "Ways" chips and "Tota Tola" from the Player running her shop. She's chasing him with her tsinelas in her hand, and angrily points in his direction.

So the "owner" and "moderator" of the Webspace Discord are just plain rude and not even communicating with this person properly. When I pinged them that it was a waste of time, they DM replied to me saying they got Timed Out mid conversation with the owner. +

82_MLN🍈 @hanidewmelon.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

So you mean to tell me you couldn't afford an artist for your game thumbnail and Discord server banner, yet you can afford to buy about $200 worth of Robux to payout the Art Contest winners? Alright whatever. I'll take my leave and- oh somebody is bringing up the AI and the owner is talking? +

82_MLN🍈 @hanidewmelon.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

Now at this point, I just feel like leaving, but there was one more thing for me to check. The Art Contest details. Apparently the images are drawn within their Roblox game itself, and submitted through there. Then top 3 receive a large sum of Robux... Price for scale. +

82_MLN🍈 @hanidewmelon.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

NOW I'm really curious and decide to check out their Discord serv- oh. *Oh.* Okay well what about that Pinterest comment that one user brought up?... Well..... That's all they said about it. +

82_MLN🍈 @hanidewmelon.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

I decided to finally check out the game once more, and to my surprise, they were holding an art contest to replace the current game thumbnail! Hm. That seems oddly coincidental... What could've happened? I asked in Global Chat to check the users' awareness and they know! But.. Do they realize? +

So one of the Roblox (wow!) games I tried for a little bit, "Webspace", was a cute little nostalgia-centered game where users could post MS Paint-style doodles and animations, and post text posts. In it's current state- the devs/staff of the game have used AI for the thumbnail. +

Tried mixed media on this one. Marker base and tried using color pencils to do touchups... if I had a white ink pen, I'd have better contrasting highlights 😮‍💨 #sketch

Found a small book in my room to reuse, and it's lineless 👀 Maybe I can get around to doing more traditional stuff to cull my growing stationary collection 🫠

I found my old Sakura Micons and the 005 surprisingly still worked. Wonder if the store still stocks these 🤔 #hanidewdles | #sketch

I'm tired of getting no responses to my applications man. #sketch

Traditional doodle of me leaning against an ambiguous surface while poorly ruffling my hair off my face, holding a pen in the other hand, and gazing tiredly at the camera. Multiple layers of stapled papers lay before me.

The 10th was detail work and oh my goodness was this so time consuming. This was where I realized I should've done a different approach entirely to speed up the process- being blocking in shapes instead of trying to hand draw everything... Still though, we learn and get better 🔥

This was a day later, after sleeping it off and trying it again fresh. Significantly better attempt and it's what I used for the base of the final drawing.
