Theseus Slaying the Minotaur. Bronze, sculpted by Antoine-Louis Barye ca. 1840. Wadsworth Atheneum. This gave me a new perspective on the Minotaur. Slay me, Theseus
Theseus preparing to plunge his dagger into the Minotaur. They're both nude, and their legs are wrapped around each other in a way that looks… intimate.

A running fox superimposed with other images: flora and fauna, eyes, a sword, a flaming winged heart. Captioned: I saw something I loved and I ran after it. I don't care if it didn't bring me anywhere.

Yoshitomo Nara is such an inspiration for me! I saw a retrospective exhibit of his work at the Asia Society museum in NYC in 2010 and then attended a lecture he gave at the MFA in Boston in 2019. I especially like this sculpture I saw in the exhibit, Mini Thinker (2006)
A cartoonish, child-like figure with canine ears, seated on a small bench in a contemplative pose, one eye covered in a gauze pad

I'm sure it could have been done better / more cleanly but as a soldering novice I'm glad I finally replaced the SRAM battery in this Japanese Pokémon Silver cartridge with a battery holder and it works

I used this teal disc but honestly it was the first one I grabbed and I think I'll probably write the album more permanently to one that's flashier, maybe pink because I like feeling that the disc matches how I feel about the music. My copy of Synthesizing the Silk Roads lives on a zebra-print MD

Editing the video for "The End of All Things" was a serendipitous moment where the images I needed emerged from the found footage, and the editing decisions seemed obvious as if they were dictated to me. It feels less like I made it and more like I found a little movie that no one had ever seen

New album progresses slowly, so I'll reshare some old stuff. This is my recording of "Aquarium" from Saint-Saëns's Carnival of the Animals, from my first album, Plague. I worked from a MIDI file arranged by Ramón Pajares.

When I'm pulling together musical ideas I'll tend to come up with a placeholder album name and cover art to kind of conceptually hold it all in place, though I might completely change them later. This is my current placeholder and I'm still deciding whether or not I like it
