We're probably getting the guest character reveal for Guilty Gear Strive this weekend, figured I'd throw predictions into the ring. It'll probably be someone completely different, but might as well shoot my shot and at least guess

Gyro: Steel Ball Run is currently in production, the character would fit the wackiness of GG like a glove, and Bandai-Namco already has a working relationship with ArcSys thanks to Dragon Ball FighterZ.

Yu/Persona 4 Protagonist: We're getting the Persona 4 remake next year and ArcSys has already worked with the character for Persona 4 Arena so it makes sense that they would give the character another go.

Morrigan: Way back in the day, Guilty Gear and Darkstalkers had a planned crossover that didn't pan out. In the nowadays with Capcom making truckloads of money, why not give the concept another go. Plus, with how ArcSys animates in 3D, they have a good shot at replicating the insanity of Morrigan's old spritework.

Darli Dagger: Darli's a standout character from the Samurai Shodown game released in 2019. The one that also had Baiken appearing as a guest character. Would make sense that the favor is returned and a Samurai Shodown character appear in GG. The only problem is that, with SNK how it is in the present-day, it would feel a bit... icky? Dunno.

Cloud: I'm a little sick of Final Fantasy VII overexposure but it would make sense to double-down by having Tifa in SF and Cloud in GG to really invade everyone's mind-space. Hyperbole aside, it's not unthinkable that another FF7 character appears just before the remake trilogy ends.

Emet-Selch: I finished Shadowbringers last month and, like, this character's amazing and there was a theory about a Final Fantasy XIV character getting in based on the font used in the announcement and I don't know if Emet re-appears in Endwalker but he's cool and

Granblue Fantasy Gave this a shot for about two weeks. Got started with the universe with Versus Rising and thought I'd give it a shot via the Steam release. I like the setting, but the browser-based gacha medium didn't stick well. That said, I like I'd like Relink if I get around to it

Manga in Theory and Practice Technically a re-read, but it's been a long while since I last went through this. Good resource for more than just manga from Mr. Jojo's himself. Would recommend.

During the hiatus, some friends and I finished Shadowbringers and, before the finale, I made some quick photoshop shitposts for fun. Here's some of the better ones to come out of that *Spoilers for FFXIV Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringers

Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls Is it weird that I think the best part of this was the single-player content? The writing for the story-mode stuff was good and the Survival mode actually having incentive to check it out via color palettes feels like something that every fighting game should have

Warcraft Remastered Time to go back to the Media Thread, oh boy. Never really had the chance to check out Warcraft stuff before, this was alright. Not too bad, not amazing, but fine. Very vanilla, though I imagine the sequels fix that

The long and short of things when I was out. TLDR: Got laid off and had a rough couple of months but things are stabilizing. Still testing the Colosseum Mod(s) and there's only been one hiccup. Working on a big update for the Hades mod for Balatro. Not going back into streaming just yet.

Out of the blue, alive again. Kinda.

Hammstien @hammstien.bsky.social · 19/07/2026

Been in a bit of a funk as of late. Life stuff has still been a mess and most of my effort now is focused on getting the Colosseum stuff finished. It's just a matter of getting things ready for distribution, which hit a major snag. Gonna focus on that for the time being, then we'll see what's next

Hammstien @hammstien.bsky.social · 13/07/2026

And that's the stream! OBS crashing the moment the game starts, love it! Hopefully we'll have session #3 tomorrow. If not, it'll be on Friday!

Hammstien @hammstien.bsky.social · 11/07/2026

And that's the stream! The Kanto mod seems to work just fine! Not sure 100% when we're streaming next, but hopefully it'll be soon!

So today's been a mess. Good news: Still have my job for a bit. Bad news: It's only for a bit and when it's done, it's done. No stream tonight. Should be good for later in the week.

000

Hammstien @hammstien.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

So an ethernet cable died so I had to move my computer stuff to another room. Seems good to go for streaming, so hopefully we can playtest the colosseum stuff tomorrow. Just need to make it through tomorrow with a hale and hearty headspace and not worried about if I'll still be employed by EOD

000

Hammstien @hammstien.bsky.social · 04/07/2026

Think we got our breakthrough with the colosseum stuff I'll probably do a test-run of it later on in the weekend. The Rattatas here are a sign that things got into place. Now we'd need to get into the thick of it

First impressions on Robo-Ky: He's fun to play and is visually a joy to watch. Dunno how strong he is, but things have been alright so far. Having little-to-no defensive options though suuuucks. Not even the punch-super is invincible. Very different from I-No and Goldlewis, just need to practice

So the good news is that work's worst-case scenario didn't happen today. Bad news is that it's not off the table and may happen any day now and that's even worse. Lovely.

Was waiting until my panel at TMG to finally show this, but I commissioned @firiun.bsky.social to cook up a piece celebrating 15 years of Versus videos (with a little self-indulgence thrown in). Folks tell me that I got them into certain games all the time, so, what did I convince you to try?

The good news is that we have stuff to show for the Dark Souls 3 into Elden Ring project, which is great. The bad news is that the theoretical process to quickly import models didn’t work, which sucks. The worse news, well…

Deltarune Chapter 5 No spoilers, this was really, really good. Characters, writing, art, music, everything firing on all cylinders. Now to wait for the next chapter. To slightly-allude-but-not-spoil, I also tried the Snowgrave route. Leaving those thoughts there…
