Gourd is the “crazy clown” guy of the group. He’s a bit off putting and can be a bit brash, but he’s actually a very good person. He’s also the only member that’s, not only in a relationship, but married with a kid. Papaya is his baby and they mean a lot to him and his wife. He’s an amazing parent

Citrus is Gourd’s wife and Papaya’s mother. She styles herself after fancy stage play clowns from the early 1900s. Delicate and posh, which immediately makes her an almost complete opposite to her husband’s aesthetic. Despite that, she lives happily with her family in the Silly Stars.

Kiwi is the last member to join the Silly Stares. Just like the other members (expect Lychee) he’s an axolotl with the aesthetic of a medieval jester. He’s always struggled with identity and who he is as a whole. Maybe that’s why he’s so nervous around even the people who knows he can trust.

Halstar is my sona and the ringleader of the Silly Stars. Even if they are a cartoonish version of me, they’re still me. And that is important.

Ever since I was very young, around the single digits, my family could tell I was probably gonna be different from other girls. I didn’t like overly feminine clothes and I didn’t mind if people accidentally thought I was a boy. Around 12 is when I really started to realize I wasn’t straight as well. I haven’t gone by my legal name or birth pronouns since I was 16 and it’s been that way ever since.

I’m a lot of things. Not a woman, not a man, not straight, not gay, not sexually active, not super romantic. But I decided to just simply give myself one label for this piece: Queer. I’m Queer. I was literally born queer and I’ve been this way since I was a young child. Nothing has ever been able to change that. I like who I am now, and honestly? That’s pretty fucking sick.

These last few pieces are a bit different. Nightshade is part of a group known as The Silly Stars. They’re my sona’s (Halstar’s) circus gang and everyone in it is an axolotl clown. Nightshade was the first to join and he’s most loyal to the ringmaster. He’s like a personal little helper to everyone.

Dragonfruit was the second to join the Silly Stars. He goes by whatever pronouns honestly. He’s doesn’t talk like at all and is a little “head empty”, but he still pays attention to conversations. Him and Nightshade are best friends, since it was just the two of them for a really long time.

Blueberry is Dragonfruit’s little sister. Shes the only non blue Axolotl in the Silly Stars, so she dresses predominantly in shades of blue to fit in better. Shes also the one that makes the rest of the group’s costumes. It’s really impressive, considering shes only a little over 2 feet tall.

Lychee is the trickster of the Silly Stars. A harlequin both in aesthetic and nature, they like to pull harmless pranks while also knowing what boundaries to not cross. Unlike the others, Lychee isn’t an axolotl, but instead an olm. Nobody in the group can tell though. They look similar enough.

Chauncey used to be a woman named Florence before being in a fatal car wreck. When she was resurrected, she couldn’t remember anyone or anything. She became Chauncey shortly after and built himself a new life. Some of his family think he’s faking it but it’s probably just the grief talking.

Irene comes from a dimension where most human concepts don’t exist. Things like reproduction, history, emotions, traditions, time, and physicality are altered in a way that humans can barely comprehend. But one certain thing is for sure: Irene has a fondness for the human Chauncey that they didn’t know could be experienced by their kind. “Is this the emotion humans call love?”

Annaleece is a child born from an affair. Her mother despises her, even though she’s done nothing wrong except exist. One day though, she meets a girl around her age that comes from the slave states of North America. They bond over stories of magic lands that would give them better lives than the ones they currently have.

Dora is Annaleece’s only friend and vice versa. The two were able to bond over the horrible trauma they both endure. But now, Dora has a plan to end that. Many years ago, she had appeared in a whimsical land where everyone was odd but kind. Maybe if she can get back to it with Annaleece, they can escape the horrible lives they have now.

Trimmer used to be a famous boxer and wrestler in the 70s. He was well known for his stature and charm, and still is almost 2 decades after his unexpected retirement. Nowadays, he’s a reserved man with two boyfriends, a daughter, and a love for fishing. He misses the glory days every now and then but he knows he’s happier this way.

Sutton, along with his two boyfriends, used to be a famous boxer and wrestler. He first met Trimmer in the ring as his opponent and the two started a private relationship. In present day, he’s still very fit and active. He especially loves teaching yoga, aerobics, and consistent cardio.

Beauchuck is the third member in Trimmer and Sutton’s triad. He was originally Trimmer’s boxing rival but the two eventually formed a friendship that led to romance. Just like the other two, he’s now retired from his original sport and instead has a job as a music teacher.

Lamar is a creature of unknown origins that was found when he was a newborn. Being raised in a (very illegal) circus by the members of it made him afraid of most people on the outside. Even the ringmaster was atrocious. Zade, his partner and best friend, was the perfect person for him to bond with after so many years alone.

Eska lived his first 3 decades of life during an era where work was sparse and pay was even worse, especially for minorities. He kept many things about himself closeted. Him being older and going through so much has made him decide to embrace the parts of himself he pushed back. Plus, he does pull off a dress pretty well.

Abigale is the single mom of a 5 year old she cares deeply for. Unfortunately, shes does wish she had planned things out more carefully. She and her ex-partner were teen parents. They were both too young to have a kid. Said partner rarely even visits their own daughter. Maybe they’re scared, but Abigale doesn’t care really.

Elliot is a shy, quiet, and reserved high schooler with a love for scrapbooking and trinket shelves. She has a girlfriend that is a little more outgoing and sociable, but the two get along perfectly. Elliot sometimes daydreams about the future with her girlfriend. Maybe one day they’ll even get married and have kids.

Muffy is Elliot’s girlfriend and most trusted companion. Her bond with her partner has been unbreakable from the moment they first met in middle school. She was a little fearful Elliot would break up with her after learning she was originally a boy. But thankfully the two are still going strong. The news didn’t change a thing.

Zade has had a complicated relationship with gender and romance. They know they’re some weird combo of both agender and androgynous, but full on dating never felt right. Eventually, they became great friends with a guy that probably wasn’t from planet earth. It was then that Zade realized a super close friendship felt much more correct.

Timbrajack, quite literally, wasn’t made for any form of romance or physical attraction. She was built to be someone’s support and service companion. All that matters to her is keeping her owner stress free and content. She can be a bit airheaded at times but she does her job very well.

Naymliss is a creature that has existed for over hundreds of thousands of years, acting as the trusted guardian of the starry abyss they call home. Their identity is paradoxical in nature, being both everything and nothing at the same time. Whatever you wish to call this is completely acceptable in their eyes.

Pollux, along with 4 of her other siblings, were mutant experiments made to test unique animal characteristics. She was mismatched from the very beginning for the sake of science. However, she realized this gave her the perfect excuse for being outside the common “cishet binary”. Win-win situation.

Chainsaw is many things. Things that feel right, things that feel wrong, and multiple confusing things in the middle or out of bounds. Existential questions are on their mind often. “Do I belong somewhere better?”, “Why am I this exact way?”, “Does life itself know who it is?”. Head scratching stuff.

Mirusha was frozen in snow and on the brink of death in the early 1700s. A younger Winsokin found him just in time and took him home to heal him. Ever since then, Mirusha has been Winsokin’s best friend and platonic life partner. The man that saved him just so happened to also be his inner awakening.

When Sunday was born, her parents and doctors mistook her for a boy. However, as she grew and changed, they realized she was a little physically different from most kids. Her parents were very understanding and, thanks to them, she gets to dress and style herself freely around her family.

Winsokin comes from an extremely rare race of human where everyone has full hermaphroditism (NOT intersex). He has four spouses, all of varying orientations and personalities, that he loves and cares for dearly. Despite losing his original family, he’s able to take care of the new one he’s built.

Jack is Winsokin’s first spouse and wife. She is a drag queen with a simple style that’s inspired by the 1950s. She has had many failed romances and meetups in the past due to the timeframe she grew up in. It wasn’t until Winsokin came along that she was finally treated with respect.

Bonnet lives in a place where everyone can be anyone, without punishment, since all inhabitants are toy people. Despite that, he’s very shy and somewhat distant. His persistent illness keeps him unfit for work, so the villager folk kindly take care of him. He wishes he could do more in return.
