I'm setting up backup for the For You database and I'm trying to do a restore from the backup on the hard-drive to the nvme. This eats up all disk IO and makes the feed super slow. I should get it back up in 20 minutes.

Did you know that you don't need to start #emacs in daemon mode before being able to use emacsclient? That's what the -a / --alternate-editor option or the ALTERNATE_EDITOR environment variable are for. If set to the empty string, the client will start Emacs in daemon mode and then connect to it.

truth hurts
A large slide fills most of the image, projected in a modern glass-walled auditorium. The slide has a pink background with bold red text at the top:

“Managers have been vibe coding forever”

Below is a bulleted list in plain red text:
	•	tell dev to implement a new feature (vibe coding)
	•	dev makes changes to code
	•	manager tests app
	•	manager does not read the code
	•	manager complains about bugs
	•	dev makes changes to fix bugs
	•	manager doesn’t read the code (again)
	•	dev says “done, by now”
	•	manager says “gj but be faster next time” or insults the living hell out of the dev

In the lower-left foreground, a speaker stands behind a black podium labeled:

AI Engineer
Code Summit
Presented by Google DeepMind

The room is bright with floor-to-ceiling windows behind the stage showing greenery and modern architecture outside.

We've been monkey-patching JS libraries for observability for too long now. It's fragile, ESM-breaking, and runtime-locked. So we started adding TracingChannel support upstream in 44 libraries 👀 Check out our latest blog post to see how and why: blog.sentry.io/fixing-javascript-observability/

It's so sad. I know it wasn't perfect when I was there either, but at least I can say everything I shipped had 2+ other vendors supporting, and I'd publicly complain about Google stuff I disagreed. From what I hear, they're not allowed to do that now.
