Just a reminder: all of Halide's looks are available on any phone that runs Halide. Not just the iPhone 18 Pro.
A list of all looks available in Halide, alongside their icons: Apple, Process Zero, Valencia, Rembrandt, Nova, Zephyr, Chroma Noir, Scarlet, Quicksilver, and Dawn.

QUICKSILVER's high contrast and muted color simulate a silver-retention alternative process. It's an excellent midpoint between color and stark black-and-white.

We've also added two new looks in this update! DAWN is a new look that features filmic warmth in mid-tones and highlights, paired with rich yet gentle shadows and subtle complementary cool colors.

Halide supports the fully variable aperture on the iPhone 18 Pro. Rather than lock you to presets, pick any value from ƒ/1.48 to ƒ/4.0. We've added an Aperture Priority mode for easy shooting, but if you need the ISO control missing from the default iPhone camera app, manual mode has you covered!

Photography is an act of observation, not a problem to be solved. The process is the artform and the flaws are the proof you were there. Embrace them.

Rich, saturated flowers might be the most difficult subject to capture with a digital camera. A smart phone struggles to reproduce the color as your eyes saw it. Compare the Apple camera to Halide’s “Rembrandt” process, which eschews realism for a more film-like look.

While Mark III delivers amazing results straight out of camera, we know that photo development can be an important creative tool. We set out to build something better than an editor: an intuitive way to develop photos in seconds. We call it the Photo Lab!

Chroma Noir is a look we developed in-house to flex our film simulation engine. It's a medium contrast, black and white look with a touch of extra grain.

Zephyr features subtle filmic contrast, paired with rich skin tones and foliage. It has the character of a traditional print, but its neutral tone scale and tuned contrast make it a great choice for a wide variety of scenes and visual intents.

Nova is exceptionally colorful, with tight contrast and smooth peachy highlights. Nova best suits landscapes and cityscapes rather than portraiture.

For portraits, we have Rembrandt, where thick contrast in the mid-tones emphasizes bone structure and lighting. Abundant color in the low end converges to white as exposure increases, for perfect uniformity in skin-tones to emphasize contours of the face.

We developed Valencia for landscapes and cityscapes, but it also has interesting effects on portraiture and skin tones. It features thick contrast, deep saturation, and solid color separation.

With Halide Mark III, we rebuilt our image processing engine to take full advantage of the iPhone camera sensor's native gamut and dynamic range. We partnered with a renowned Hollywood colorist to develop a set of amazing looks, each with a specific intent. Enough words, here's photos!

iPhone 17s get a square, doubled-size front-facing camera sensor. Makes a lot of sense, and will get a ton of use by users with the Center Stage feature auto-framing the shot.

A year ago, we launched Kino — Halide’s video sidekick. We couldn’t have imagined the incredible rollercoaster of its first year: topping the App Store charts, a cameo in the iPhone 16 keynote, and winning the App Store Awards as iPhone App of the Year! Happy birthday, Kino 🥳

It’s iPhone 16e week, but let’s take a moment to honor the finest iPhone with a home button: the iPhone 7! Maybe the nicest iPhone ever? Dylan McDonald (@dylan.mcd8) shot this utterly gorgeous portrait of the 7 series lineup. We’ll always be very partial to the Jet Black — the best iPhone finish.

RULE OF THIRDS is our 2nd theme to kick off our 52-week creative challenge! Tips: A thirds-layout grid is in Halide and Kino - and you can use that as a guide as you take a shot. But, don’t limit yourself to a precise grid if you feel like it: you can take shots of, say, 3 items too.
