my extended family member works for border patrol and his wife told me that he’s being dispatched along with hundreds of other agents to Minneapolis tonight. This seems to have something to do with Trumps’ post earlier this morning. It sounds like they’re trying to quell the protests all in one night, sounded like a huge operation the way she described it possibly the biggest yet.

update: sorry for taking so long, she finaly game me a proper update. I’ll just preface this by saying she does not condone what ice or border patrol is doing whatsoever, she was a centrist who didn’t care much about this issue till that woman got shot and killed last week. from what I can understand shes had fights with her husband about this for the past few days.

anyways, she says that from what she was able to make out, they’re planning on hitting apartments and homes TONIGHT, the hundreds of other agents being dispatched tonight are there to ensure the operations can be done without the interruption of protestors, the assumption is that the higher ups realized how bad the killing was for their rep and they wanna warp things up as soon as possible, the ice agents who are already in minneapolis will be raiding residential homes and apartments TONIGHT and it sounds like the back up being sent will fend off protestors by whatever means necessary, please please please if you guys know people protesting in mn tonight inform them of this ASAP.

After WW2, there was a process of “de-nazification” of Germany. Something similar will need to be done. It is the same reason that intolerance cannot be tolerated.

Tolerance is a peace treaty. If you insist on being intolerant, then don’t expect that people have to tolerate you. You are the one who broke the treaty in the first place.

The line in the graph shows an effective tariff rate from 1780 of about 10%,generally climbing to a peak in about 1830 with greater than 50% tariffs, then suddenly dropping to about 20% tariffs in 1830. Tariffs were around 20% until 1860 and then rose above 40% around 1870 before falling to 25% from 1870 to 1880. In 1880, there was the Tariff act of 1880 and a gradual U shaped drop to 20% and then climbing back to 25% by 1900. From 1900 there was a slide down in tariffs to about 5% in 1920 then a rise in tariffs to 1930. Then the Smoot-Hawley tariff act was passed and increased tariffs to 15% before sliding down to about 5% in 1950. From 1950 there was a general slide downward until 2025, when tariffs skyrocketed to 25%.

Also, GDP will slowdown 0.6% in 2025 and 0.3% to 0.4% lower perpetually after this year.

Further tariffs beyond this first 25% will do more damage.

News article from Marketwatch. Dow and S&P head for worst post-election day performance since 2009. Which was at the beginning of the Great Recession.

Tech heavy NASDAQ is also on track for it’s weakest performance between election day and inauguration since 2013.

Dow was up 2.2% since election day, S&P 500 was up 2.7% since election day, NASDAQ 4.9% since election day.
