That street view is Main Street in Calistoga looking west as the fire climbed up the mountain side en route to Santa Rosa. A chef that I worked with was the exec chef at Meadowood. After the fire he said screw this and moved back to Hawaii. I don’t blame him.

Pork butt in the crockpot for some shredded pork enchiladas, cleaned the garage, had a couple beers with our Coastie neighbor and gave our 3 basically brand new bikes to our other neighbors so they can take their boys out for some rides around the neighborhood. ❤️

My wife had a helluva week at work. She had two different patients with maggots coming out of their wounds. First one was from his foot, second one out of his head. Neither were homeless. Both had really shitty care takers. Yikes.

Trying out a new batch of my red potato salad. Just like my grandmother taught me, I boiled the potatoes in salted water with about a cup of red wine vinegar, then after draining spread out on a sheet pan and drizzle with more vinegar and given a dusting of S&P.

When I was dealing with my nosebleeds (especially after two code 3 ambulance rides) I started sleeping in my chair because of pure fear of sleeping on my back. Because of that it really fucked up my shoulder. This combo sure has helped. A lot.

This ranch is at the very top of the Sonoma Mtn range, and a direct line up from our neighborhood. I’ve cooked here for 2 weddings. Never again. The place is loaded with rattlesnakes. First time I cooked here we found one a few feet from our grill. 😳
