Hakita @hakita.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I follow a lot of artists on Bandcamp so I get messages about them being on tour occasionally. Mostly though the best way is to just look up the small local venues online and look through what they're hosting every couple months or so. 0190
Hakita @hakita.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Saw Lawrence English live. Everyone was laying down on the floor on yoga mats, you could feel the drones with your entire body from the vibrations of the floor. Very pleasant experience. 21263

Hakita @hakita.bsky.social · 15/09/2026I'd let you know but even high school me was unable to sit through the entirety of the History Repeating duology. 0110
Hakita @hakita.bsky.social · 15/09/2026The flipside is The Megas, whose music is extremely overtly Mega Man and with one or two exceptions they're pretty bad, so with a sample size of two we can safely assume that the amount of Mega Man in a Mega Man rock album is inversely proportionate to the quality of the Mega Man rock album. 190
Hakita @hakita.bsky.social · 08/09/2026It's not as good as you'd get with specialized analog pedals, but it having so many different effects that you can stack and edit individually makes it extremely versatile without costing nearly as much as getting those effects as separate pedals. 1151
Hakita @hakita.bsky.social · 08/09/2026My final recordings were really shoddy in sound quality, so I thought that was just it dying, but the problem continued even with the new pedal. Apparently it was just some "audio enhancement" setting that had turned on by itself destroying the recordings... 71563
Hakita @hakita.bsky.social · 08/09/2026RIP my beloved Zoom G3 guitar effects pedal. I had been using this thing for over a decade to record all my music and now it finally died. Luckily, despite being discontinued, I managed to find a second hand used one that I had to import from Japan. My beloved returns to me... 52848
Hakita @hakita.bsky.social · 06/09/2026Thank you very much for the recommendations. I don't know how many of them will apply, but it's certainly given me a lot of stuff to go through. I did consider adding Les Diaboliques on the list but decided not to in the end, since I felt its procedurality wasn't out of the ordinary for the genre. 120
Hakita @hakita.bsky.social · 06/09/2026I haven't seen it yet, but I do hold genres with a higher ratio of process films (ie. courtroom dramas, police procedurals, crime films and prison break films) to a higher standard in order to make the list more useful, so it probably doesn't count for my purposes. 030
Hakita @hakita.bsky.social · 06/09/2026Lately I've been obsessed with (at least what I call) Process Films. They're movies that focus on the detailed portrayal of a process or action, with extreme examples (marked with ★ in the alt text) often prioritizing the process itself over story and characters. Am I missing any notable examples? 2117710

Hakita @hakita.bsky.social · 24/08/2026The highlights are as high as they've ever been, the stronger sense of conventional songwriting is a welcome reprieve, but it's also home to some of the most egregious examples of Alex Kent's weaknesses, with some parts trying so hard to be shocking that they end up silly and ruin the atmosphere. 130

Hakita @hakita.bsky.social · 23/08/2026Although I still prefer DMC3 overall, I tend to replay 1 more just due to how smoothly it flows with its brisk pace and short length, it's easy to just do a full playthrough in a single sitting whenever I feel like it. I even don't hate Nightmare! 11201
Hakita @hakita.bsky.social · 23/08/2026Happy 25th anniversary to Devil May Cry! It's wild how much of a trendsetter DMC1 was for 3D action games, and somehow it's still up there as one of the greats. A little less accessible for modern players, but once you get into its groove, it's a damn well-oiled machine. 733039

Hakita @hakita.bsky.social · 23/08/2026Vibin with Ustad Zia Mohiuddin Dagar. I'm no expert on raaga, but the mellow plucks and slow swings of the sitar make for such a pleasant and easy atmosphere, and a great cure for headaches (ow). Dhrupad singing is great too, but I usually prefer this kinda thing instrumental. 2974

Hakita @hakita.bsky.social · 16/08/2026Absolutely loved Big Walk. Didn't expect it to feel like a co-op version of The Witness with its simple puzzle rules, neat twists and rich atmosphere, though there's plenty goofy hijinx in between too. Co-op puzzle games are so satisfying when done right. Probably my GOTY. 645129
Hakita @hakita.bsky.social · 12/08/2026Vibin with the Mahavishnu Orchestra. It's a shame the recording quality on their live albums tends to be spotty, because the performances are insane. Billy Cobham was in his prime one of if not THE best drummer in the world, and studio recordings can't do him justice. youtu.be/RUbusEvGhtM 21073

Hakita @hakita.bsky.social · 01/08/2026Vibin with Buddy Guy's Sweet Tea. Usually I prefer my Blues the old fashioned way (acoustic by a solo artist), but the sound on this record is so deliciously gritty and grimy that it borders on very heavy, moody rock. The bass tone on "Baby Please Don't Leave Me" is incredible. 31100
Hakita @hakita.bsky.social · 29/07/2026As much as I love Tarkus and Karn Evil 9, my favorite ELP track is still Toccata.
