I find movies like the original PA to be good but only if you get that nail biting sense of dread when something isn’t happening and you know it’s going to. If that’s just like “whatever” then I imagine they’d be boring or worse - the husband in the first movie was a day trading silly valley bro

I went to a Montessori-ish private school up through fourth grade (America) and they really let kids lean into their strengths and interests. They also did not push things kids weren’t good at, and did not really believe in a lot of modern behavioral child psychology stuff so no ADHD or autism help

there's this mint we get around where I live that's kind of a ground cover creeping plant that spreads fast and it has these tiny little purple flowers, and it's such a huge pain in the butt. Catnip is also native and it's like the low shrub version (it's a mint plant).

No spoilers, it’s full of twists and you don’t know what the true story is until the very end. And the twists aren’t cheap melodrama (mostly), they are an intimate reflection of a core premise of the show.

I just want to recommend “how to get to heaven from Belfast” on Netflix again. It’s such a good show. It takes the whole cultural love letter vibe of “derry girls” and applies it to a black comedy of suspense and mystery.

I do have to say that it feels correct that art should be hard and require skill and frustration to make and a lot of “art statement art” seems to shirk that. Like there is no technical proficiency or practice or skill evident in “fountain” or putting Barbie dolls into taco shells or whatever.

I would think you would want bright colors inside of a building that is lit by windows and candles. My family had an A-frame lodge cabin for a vacation home and the interior was quite dark cedar wood and there weren’t a lot of windows and it was like a crypt at high noon and you’d trip at night.
