I know most of you guys don't go on the other app but the pope posted an anti AI/ pro artists statement yesterday, and the ensuing cope and memes is really funny

Pope Leo XIV
@Pontifex

In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

2016: I will never fight a holy war

2019: Pope Leo I am ready launch me towards the nearest data center

some AI guy saying he makes christian children's books with AI asking the pope if that is ok then and someone posting a meme react with the pope holding a baseball bat saying 'did I stutter'

THE CLANS HEIR IS A TRANS WOMAN (2013) is like Steven Seagal decided to Write/Direct/Star in a love letter to his trans friends, but it looks and feels like every action movie he's made... except Hitoshi Ozawa is way way way way cooler than Seagal.

Well PS3 and RPC3 can now play WKC2 online crossplay. Thankfully because this game uses a full dedicated server, there is compatibility for the two to play together! Coming soon :)

This was a fascinating video, and I really wasn't aware of just how much Roland Sound Canvas was used for console games' music. But it's an ahhh, of course moment seeing some of those listed, being now more aware of the SC-55 and 88's distinctive sound.

Today for something different here's the artwork of World Heroes 2 Pro bootleg for the #Famicom. I don't know who's the "artist" but thank you for this beautiful mess! Removed logos/text, applying the usual upscale/clean/retouch process. Thanks to @pc98audi.bsky.social for the scan!

World Heroes 2 Pro bootleg clean artwork used on the cover of the Famicom release in Asia. Image depicts several characters from famous game series in different positions. From the top left to the lower right the face of Mario in blue tones with his red hat up top, two flaming characters on each side that aren't identifiable, M. Bison, Mike Haggar, a funny looking Bowser, Ryu, Leonardo with Raphael's bandanna color, Andy Bogard, young Son Goku hovering on Kinton holding a knife(!?), Chun-Li seating on the ground and Sonic The Hedgehog with some lighting around him.
