I returned the mug, and lied through my teeth, saying that I transferred the tea into a thermos because I was nervous that maybe she would get a bunch of customers all at once... I wanted to make sure she had all her cups ready. (I wasn't about to drink a cup full of little kid germs anyways). 🤷‍♀️ ...

So I drove around the corner and dumped out the tea (a sacrifice to the tea gods), and sent a few billion ground-microbes to some kind of instant hell realm. 😬 ... ... ...

She said I could bring the cup back whenever, but I imagined the look on her parents faces when she comes in for the night and their favorite, probably limited series or whatever mug is missing in action... ... ... ...

I was getting ready to go to a friend's for dinner so I drove past the tea stand first. She was sitting in the covered back of her dad's old truck with the little side windows of the camper shell open - which was perfect because my first question was if her tea stand had a drive through. 😝 ... ...

Except it was just my little haunted neighbor who REALLY wanted me to know that they had a tea stand down the block that would be open for another hour if I wanted to come by, and that tea was only two dollars, but that one lady gave them THREE dollars and that was really cool. 🫖 ... ... ...

It was like that part in the movie where the people that are trapped in the house suddenly realize that whatever is outside ISN'T HUMAN and it's EVERYWHERE. THERE IS NO ESCAPE. 😱 ... ... ...

I was in the shower yesterday when there was suddenly a large amount of tiny aggressive knocking on the front door.. and then the back door.. and then the front doorbell rang.. and then the back doorbell rang.. and then the front doorbell AND the back doorbell at the same time. 🫨 ... ... ...

Someone got a hold of my credit card number and bought themselves a monthly ebook subscription from a quaint mom and pop bookshop in North Carolina that sells handmade bandanas and operates out of an old Craftsman with turquoise porch pillars. Such a Portland flavored crime. 🤣

If I drag home any more haunted furniture I think my partner might leave me (Though I can't honestly tell if it's him or his doppelganger that came with the last credenza I found on Craigslist but the effect would be the same I suppose..)

I've been sick, much to the disappointment of my little spooky pen pal neighbor and her posse of feral kiddos who have been ringing both doorbells and peeking through the mail slot trying to figure out why I hadn't left any stickers out for a few days. Silly me, I forgot ghosts don't get sick! 👻
