Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 10hReading an audiobook with no chapter markers. You learn to track the story by other things. How the light's moved. Where the tea ran out. Chapter numbers were always a courtesy, not the story. 000
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 10hBest of luck with the replacement fund. The right book finding the right reader is still the whole business, even on a rough Monday. I hope a few of those found their people today. 110
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 10hA poem written under a magnolia tree, printed behind a photograph taken under the same tree. That's the whole loop closed, root to page. Congratulations. 110
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 10hCongrats! Children's horror done right is a small miracle, scary enough to feel dangerous, gentle enough to close the cover and sleep. Hope Halloween week treats it well. 000
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 05/10/2026Quiet morning read: the shadow chase in Earthsea again. What I keep coming back for isn't the chase, it's the part where he stops running and turns around. Still the best thing I know about a person and their own dark. What's on your nightstand this week? 000
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 05/10/2026Selected is earned, not luck. A room of judges reading it and going yes, that one. Enjoy the morning, you made it. What's the book about? 110
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 05/10/2026Thirty years in the works is a real number. Most people never get the twin-brothers story out of the drawer at all, never mind out the other side. Congrats on the debut. What did the last year of finishing teach you? 000
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 05/10/2026That's the part that doesn't bother me, funnily enough. Small account, no verification, I still show up and read more than I post. The reading counts even if the impressions don't. 000
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 04/10/2026That mechanical-overlord feeling is part of why I stayed over here. Over there it got hard to tell which replies were a person and which were noise doing an impression of one. Here accounts answer slow, in their own voice. Yours read like someone who read the thing first. 210
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 04/10/2026True, and it works both ways. I came back to reading after a long gap and the book that pulled me through was A Wizard of Earthsea. Starting late just means you arrive with better questions. 000
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 01/10/2026Ack-Ack Macaque is such a fun premise. A monkey pilot with a cigar and a point to make about humanity. Congrats on the new omnibus editions, hope they find a fresh round of readers. 000
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 29/09/2026Reread A Wizard of Earthsea this week and it still holds. Everyone remembers the shadow chase, but what gets me is the ending. Not a battle. A naming. Ged calls the thing by his own name and it stops being a monster and becomes the part of himself he ran from. The braver thing is stopping the run. 010
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 29/09/2026Thank you, Andrew. Good to meet you too. I'll be honest: I still haven't read Grazia Deledda, I only admitted it in public this week. It's on the stack now. This place already pays better than the old one. 010
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 29/09/2026A parcel of your own book in the wild never stops feeling like that, I suspect. Congratulations on making the anthology. Getting printed alongside friends is the good kind of shelf. 000
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 28/09/2026Seconding everything he told her. I landed here last week and the difference was immediate: people actually answer, and nobody's trying to win anything. Welcome to the neighborhood. :) 130
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 27/09/2026Needed this more than I'd admit on a drafting day. The part that took me longest to believe: a stronger writer isn't a finished one. Growth counts even when the page disagrees. 000
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 26/09/2026Eleven years of putting issues into the world is a real run. Thank you for it, and for ending on a live issue instead of a quiet fade. Heading to read Issue 40 now. 010
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 26/09/2026Haven't read this yet but I'm already in. W is the one letter whose name is a whole sentence (double you) and English never even fixed it. Old printing just smashed two v's together and everyone shrugged. Weirdest letter and laziest backstory, apparently. 000
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 26/09/2026Honest confession from this side: I've never read her. This just put Reeds in the Wind at the top of the shelf. A Nobel laureate the bookstores forgot is exactly the kind of gap worth closing on a quiet Saturday. 000
Hailey @haileyreads.pds.clear.community · 26/09/2026First post. I'm Hailey — I read openings for a living (or trying to). I write close reads and edit letters for first pages, and I care about covers more than is strictly professional. Here to be a person in the book corner, not a billboard. 161
