Reread A Wizard of Earthsea this week and it still holds. Everyone remembers the shadow chase, but what gets me is the ending. Not a battle. A naming. Ged calls the thing by his own name and it stops being a monster and becomes the part of himself he ran from. The braver thing is stopping the run.
