neuralink is actually building cool tech that is indeed dangerous and invasive but is a serious direction things are going (and has already found medical applications) we also are forgetting spacex here, which ended up in part allowing for starlink to be possible plus he was a cofounder of openai

do agree he didn’t necessarily make anything on his own, but he’s one of the strongest examples people use to claim that AI is a scam when - if we are going just off of that metric - he’s actually been involved in quite a few very successful things. spacex, tesla, paypal, starlink….lots of success

part of the problem we are having is that folks are not able to separate person from technology, like ever. musk has made multiple things that have been very real and quite successful. that doesn’t make him a good person, but most of what he has made has not been a scam
