Today marks 1 year since my first PhD app deadline and ~2 months since starting my PhD at UO! It’s still surreal that I actually get to spend every day studying the topics that excite, concern, & puzzle me the most — and doing so alongside my amazing & brilliant cohort makes it even better!

A bit delayed, but can’t wait to attend my first EDRS this fall and share findings from my thesis work looking at differences in ED risk among women with varying configurations of bisexual attraction and identification!

And we obviously had to celebrate this moment with a culinary journey through my educational eras!

An array of food on a table. A sign reads “K-12: small bites from Virginia.” Dishes include VA peanuts, pimento cheese, and ham biscuits

A platter of mini lobster rolls in front of a sign reading “Undergrad: Appetizers from Massachusetts.”

A taco buffet and SDSU pennant on a table with a sign reading “Master’s: main course from San Diego”

A block of cheese, two bottles of wine, and a cake on the table with Oregon merch and a sign reading “Doctorate: wine and cheese from Oregon!”

Celebrated graduation from my M.A. program with some of my favorite people and biggest supporters last weekend! Feeling so many things and so much love for my SD community as I wrap up my time here and look forward to the next chapter!

1/x My NIH grant that would collect data to help *prevent suicidal thoughts and behaviors* among LGBTQ+ people was terminated today, along with many other LGBTQ+ focused grants. These terminations make no sense scientifically. Here's why:
