I've been feeling burnt out by social media lately, so I'm taking an extended break. I may pop in here and there, but I hope to be back regularly in the fall. Take care, everyone.❤️ #Editor #writingcommunity

AI's like a bar of soap; it can help you clean up your writing. But if you don't hire a human editor to rinse your manuscript well, it's bound to leave a sloppy residue behind. - hagoedco.com Romance #BookEditor & Proofreader who helps Indie authors fall in love with their words #writingcommunity

In my novel, my MC, Jaime, has two favorite plushies: a Mickey Mouse--"Disney On Ice"-style with a tux, and a Kermit the Frog. Both are gifts from her grandmother. Jaime loves classic Disney animation, so she probably has a huge collection of those characters, too. #writingcommunity #writingprompts

‘Melissophobia’ is a fear of bees. ‘Mel’ is Latin for “honey.” The name, ‘Melissa,’ comes from the Greek word for “honeybee.” In Greek mythology, Melissa was a nymph who fed the infant Zeus honey instead of milk. Later, the gods turned her into a bee (spoiler alert).

I just deleted a post that I made months ago. I was ashamed of it at first, but then became proud of it as a written piece. The friend I mentioned in it is going through a tough time right now, and that post felt frivolous. Friendship is greater than business.💛

Just so you know: Over on LinkedIn I wrote a post about the word, 'canoodle'. It ends like this: "By the way, there won’t be a post next week, as I’m taking a spring break. Although--not the kind that involves any canoodling." So...there you have it. Until we meet again.❤️

An interesting op-ed. The author's concerns are all valid. In my opinion, they miss an important distinction: not being liked is not the same as being disrespected to the point of fear. I don't care if Trump likes me--I care that he chooses to act out of contempt. www.nytimes.com/2017/02/15/o...

‘Rage’ and ‘outrage’ aren’t etymologically related. ‘Rage’ is from the Latin ‘rabere’ (to be mad). ‘Outrage’ is from Anglo-French ‘utrage’ (insult), from Latin 'ultra' (beyond). We hope this doesn’t make you mad.

'The editor did it.' No, that's not a line in a horror novel--but it is the implication in this article about one. So sad. Not sure who I believe, but it sounds like the author fell for a scam. Vet your editors. #BookEditing #writingcommunity www.nytimes.com/2026/03/19/b...
