Great Egret - illustration created mainly from a peeling paint photo #animalart #wildlifeart #birdart #collage #noai #egret buymeacoffee.com/adrianhillma... for a $5 digital download
Digital collage illustration of the neck and head of a great egret bird. The white bird is standing sideways with its neck in an inverted 'S' shape and its large yellow beak pointing slightly downwards. The 'kink' in its neck, distinctive of this species of bird, is clear. The background is dark, almost black, with a ripple-like effect of mid-blue patches which come from a photograph of peeling paint. This same texture effect also covers the bird as grey areas over its otherwise white plumage. Its bright yellow eye is set in a small patch of greenish skin.

Little Ringed Plover (plus 2 ghost crabs) digital collage created from 5 different urban decay photos. #animalart #wildlifeart #birdart #collage #noai #shorebird buymeacoffee.com/adrianhillma... for a $5 digital download
Artwork of a little ringed plover bird running along the water's edge on a beach. The image was created as a digital collage from five different macro photographs of weathered urban surfaces so there are worn, cracked and scratched textures throughout. The colours are largely light but subdued greys and browns except for a large patch of blue water as part of the background and some details on the bird such as yellow legs and an orange beak. There are also two small and hard to see ghost crabs hiding near the bird's feet.

The absolutely stunning Painted Bat (Kerivuola picta) that roosts in old banana leaf tips (sometimes in our garden!). Digital collage from urban decay photos 🦇🦇🦇 #animalart #wildlifeart #bats #collage #noai #paintedbat buymeacoffee.com/adrianhillma... for a $5 digital download
Digital collage artwork of a painted bat (Kerivuola picta) flying out from the inverted cone of a banana plant's dying leaf-tip. The bat with its wings spread is flying downwards as it drops out from the leaf and is a stunning pattern of a bright orange body with wings of the same orange colour plus large black patches. The background is dark blue with some large, dark green banana leaves and the crumpled remains of a dried leaf-tip at the top - it is this leaf-tip that provides the bat with a secure day-time roost. Created from a variety of macro photographs of weathered urban surfaces.

Shelduck were my favourite kind of duck as a youthful bird-watcher because I could identify them from half a mile away without binoculars! Digital collage from urban decay photos. #animalart #wildlifeart #birdart #collage #noai #shelduck buymeacoffee.com/adrianhillma... for a $5 digital download
Digital collage artwork of a pair of shelduck standing in a rocky landscape that could be a shoreline or an icy wilderness. Created from photographs of weathered urban surfaces, the background is a mixture of cracked and rough-textured grey slabs interpersed with patches of more smoothly textured light blue. Both birds are looking to the right and their classic pattern of a black-and-white body with orange-brown breast and green head contains various weathered textures mainly from cracked paintwork.

They like it wet, don't they? "Rainy Dipper" illustration created as a digital collage from photos of weathered urban surfaces. #animalart #wildlifeart #birdart #collage #noai #dipper buymeacoffee.com/adrianhillma... for a $5 digital download
Digital collage artwork of a dipper bird perched in an abstract watery landscape with falling rain. The bird is standing sideways looking to the left and is mainly a range of browns with different weathered textures. The background is a mix of blue, green and brown in large sections from three different weathered urban surface photographs creating the impression of a wet waterside world. Large translucent raindrops are falling diagonally from right to left.

Hi, yes, always respect crows...they will notice and treat you accordingly. No floods here, just big puddles.

"Asian Openbill Stork" digital collage from photos of weathered urban surfaces. A bird that often thermals over our garden (in Thailand) and gives me neck-ache from watching them! #animalart #wildlifeart #birdart #collage #noai #stork buymeacoffee.com/adrianhillma... for a $5 digital download
Digital collage artwork of a flying asian openbill stork seen from below with its broad wings spread open and a background of blue sky at the top and cumulus clouds in the lower third. This was created from various photos of weathered urban surfaces such as old wood and worn tiles which give the artwork a pleasant variety of textures.

"Nuthatched" digital collage from photos of weathered urban surfaces. The tree-trunk/background is actually a photo of a worn line on the ground in a carpark 😀 #animalart #wildlifeart #wildlife #birdart #collage #weathering #noai buymeacoffee.com/adrianhillma... for a $5 digital download
Digital collage artwork of a European nuthatch bird created from photographs of weathered urban surfaces. The bird is hanging on to a tree-trunk with its head pointing downwards as nuthatches usually do. The tree-trunk is actually a very worn and disintegrating white line from a carpark with the rest of the light yellowish background the texture of smooth but faintly cracked concrete. The bird has a slaty blue back with a rough bubbly texture. The bird's underside is light orangey-brown with a hatched pattern from a photo of small worn tiles.

"Bison Landscape" as a digital collage from photos of weathered urban surfaces. #animalart #wildlifeart #wildlife #bison #collage #weathering #noai buymeacoffee.com/adrianhillma... for a digital download
Artwork of a spread-out herd of bison wandering over a colourful abstract landscape of rolling hills. Created from a variety of photographs of weathered urban surfaces the landscape consists of wavy layers receding into the distance each with a different colour and texture of, for example, peeling paintwork or rusty metal. This is overlaid with small patches of dark rust. The 18 visible bison are the same dark rust colour and texture, and are all walking from right to left with none in the foreground and most in the distance.

Part of a hatched no parking zone that's clearly been driven over many times if not actually parked on. #weathering #urbandecay #macrophotography #abstractart #accidentalart
Macro photograph of orange lines in the form of an "X" that formed part of a painted no parking zone. The paintwork has been heavily worn to reveal the concrete underneath. The central part of the X is yellowish with the arms a darker orange colour.

Rusty appendage #weathering #urbandecay #macrophotography #abstractart #accidentalart
Macro photograph of a long area of rust like an elongated drip in an otherwise fairly unblemished sheet of silverish metal. The rust has a very sharp, clean edge and pleasing orange-brown texture.

I have no idea what information this road sign once displayed but now it speaks of what the weathering of the heavy rains and powerful sun of Thailand can do to you. #weathering #urbandecay #macrophotography #abstractart #accidentalart
Macro photograph of an extremely weathered old roadside sign in Thailand. It is so weathered that I found it impossible to discern what the sign was supposed to be displaying. The paintwork is worn and lightly textured but also cracked with sections of it in the process of curling and peeling away from the base metal which is pure brownish rust. The paint is in an irregular pattern of almost white and mid-grey, all of which is partially infused by the orange staining of the underlying rust.

Yes! I'm fortunate enough to live 30km from a wrinkle-lipped bat cave in Thailand and visit it once a week. What you post is the message to get across - particularly when combined with the fact that their guano is collected as the absolute best fertiliser for fruit trees!

Comet - in an old car's bodywork #weathering #urbandecay #macrophotography #abstractart #accidentalart
Macro photograph of a weathered patch of car paintwork. The car's blackish paint has weathered to a fine grey texture and a large patch has flaked away to reveal the underlying yellow paint which is stained with orange rust. There are also some fine cracks in the dark paint emanating from the yellow area giving an impression of movement.

A cracking pattern on some painted metal shutters #weathering #urbandecay #macrophotography #abstractart #accidentalart

Tree trunk - another stripe of flaking paint on the same metal gate as yesterday also doing a good imitation of tree bark #weathering #urbandecay #macrophotography #abstractart #accidentalart
Macro photograph of a vertical stripe of peeling paint on an old metal gate. The top layer of mid-brown paint has peeled away to reveal a lighter cream-coloured layer below which is also flaking away with curled edges to reveal another brown layer below. The range of flake sizes and colouring within the stripe makes it look similar to a section of a tree trunk which also has two stumps of branches and a knot.

Faux lichen - the closer I got to the peeling paint on this old metal gate the more interesting it became #weathering #urbandecay #macrophotography #abstractart #accidentalart
Macro photograph of white paint peeling away from an old metal gate to reveal green paint and rust spots underneath. The many small flakes of paint are generally quite rounded and reminiscent of lichen with edges curling away from the underlying base.

Macro photograph of an old wall at a Thai temple with the vague abstract shape of the front and top of an Asian elephant formed by a white patch in an otherwise grey wall. The wall has deep weathered, blotchy texture including thin cracks across the light area. The elephant appears to have a howdah on its back.

This old dial had been stuck together on a wall for no apparent reason (as far as I could tell) but has weathered nicely #weathering #urbandecay #macrophotography #abstractart #accidentalart
Macro photograph of a picture of a simple circular dial stuck on an old wall with its single hand pointing towards "two o'clock". The dial seems to have been constructed using cut-up bits of white and light brown sticky plastic and has no obvious use. It now has fine cracks, stains and splashed paint over it and blends nicely into the weathered bluish-grey wall.

Some pleasantly subtle weathering that has so far left the instruction intact #weathering #urbandecay #macrophotography #abstractart #accidentalart
Macro photograph of a large white arrow pointing left on a green sign. The arrow is finely cracked showing the green underneath and the green background has some subtle drips and faded areas but the arrow is still very clear with a sharp edge.

Thorny paintwork found on an old car #weathering #urbandecay #macrophotography #abstractart #accidentalart
Macro photograph of the weathered disintegrating paintwork on an old car. It is mostly a roughly textured grey colour but along the base has a jagged edge where the grey paint has peeled away to reveal the light yellow bodywork underneath below which is a band of deeper black paint that has cracked into lots of small, irregular patches with white edges.

Macro photograph of what remains from an advertisement board once stuck to a wall by glue. The only part remaining is where a spot of glue in the shape of a tadpole still holds it in place while the rest has all disintegrated away. The wall is a textured, faded white with the "tadpole" a similar colour but marked with the horizontal lines of the original corrugated board.

Macro photograph of differently coloured flaking paint layers on a corrugated metal sheet used as a roadside fence. There is pale yellow paint mixed with brownish rust on the left, mainly light blue in the middle with patches of the underlying metal and rust, then orangey-brown paint on the right. All irregularly worn and flaked. The horizontal corrugation ripples are visible but subtle.

"Shorebirds" in a photo of paint flaking away from rust (plus a mouse). #animalart #wildlifeart #wildlife #shorebirds #birdart #noai Digital download available at: buymeacoffee.com/adrianhillma...
Artwork of mixed wading birds on an abstract shore created from a macro photograph of paint flaking away from its rusty base. The light top layer of paint is stained by the underlying rust in places and has flaked away in roughly circular patches to reveal some mauve paint plus lots of rust. Two stilts (birds) are standing feeding together in the middle of the rocky beach with much rust showing through. Below them are three smaller less obvious wading birds foraging amongst the rocks and an unlikely mouse in the corner. Behind the birds the paint has flaked away in an even pattern that appears like light glinting on the sea, and at the top is an area of less-flaked paint with some light scratches showing the mauve paint - a distant flock of waders is flying across this sky.

Artwork of a reindeer or caribou standing besides the melt-water outflow of a glacier. Created from a photograph of old paintwork flaking in layers. The paintwork is cracked and flaking with patches of red, brown and yellow plus a large area of white. The single reindeer is apparently looking to cross the stream of meltwater. There is also a mouse hidden in the image.
