Oooh i love the POV way of doing it, how would she describe herself in three words? Does she have any really big dreams or lofty goals in life?

I really need to draw Zelna (PC I never got to run) so badly. She's half clonn half vedalken and even though she exists in a post-calamity setting where powerful wizards destroyed the sun and left all to ruin, Wizardry is still her special interest... she doesn't have a ton of friends ofc

Sunny ☀️ Mellow @h0nex.bsky.social · 16/05/2025

omg she's adorable! Given she's aasimar-human, what's the story of how her parents met, and is her other parent still in her life in some way?

Not about political stuff, it's just sometimes you will never be on the same page as a belligerent stranger. Do you even want to be? Opinions exist, some people are rude about theirs, it's not a sacred duty to debate everyone. We aren't on Reddit

Sunny ☀️ Mellow @h0nex.bsky.social · 15/05/2025

Its tempting to debate people online but remember sometimes you're arguing with someone who chose to live in Antarctica and they're mad at you for posting about how much you enjoy touching grass. They've never experienced it, what is there to argue about? Say "okay penguin boy" and move on.

I like that! For me sometimes I'll still do a "failure" but not in the traditional sense. Like if a PC w/ 20 Str wants to smash a padlock w/ a hammer, & they roll a 1? They still smash it! And instead of it falling off? Its a mangled mess that can no longer be picked 😂 worse outcome than missing it

for sure not common in my experience, that sucks! I'm sorry that happened 😭 I feel like most GMs would figure out some way to get your character involved, I'm glad it didn't seem to sour ttrpgs for you overall at least ^_^

Sunny ☀️ Mellow @h0nex.bsky.social · 15/05/2025

Agreed! Giving motivation/reasoning to enemies can also make combat more varied. Instead of a fight always being "the enemy wins if they kill the party & vice versa" I've mixed it up with "the enemy wins if they buy enough time" or "the enemy is trying to steal/destroy [important plot item]" ect.

Sunny ☀️ Mellow @h0nex.bsky.social · 15/05/2025

"Failure" rolls shouldn't always be "you entirely fail to do (thing you are attempting)" especially when it makes no sense for the character, or a successful roll is necessary to advance the plot. Shoutout to Blades in the Dark, bc "succeed but there's a consequence" has improved my DMing overall

This was SB99 from 2023. I spoke against this bill on 3 different occasions on the house floor, including the "blood on your hands" speech. I am glad this bill has been permanently defeated. And that Montana's constitution continues to protect trans people from government overreach and animus.

If anyone needs a podcast rec go listen to Silt Verses. I've been trying to listen to podcasts for about 12 years, and have *never* been able to get through even a single episode of any of them (I struggle to keep up with audio stories due to brain/ear problems) I just finished episode 5.

Bills that ban porn DO NOT get rid of porn. Porn, like abortions, moves underground, and any industry health/safety regulations put in place disappear. Women in sex work suffer, and a purposefully vague definition of what constitutes porn will be used to ban queer literature. This is Christocracy bs

i just pick a voice that suits the character and tone tbh! I have had a very serious in character discussion w/ a stereotypical "caveman" voice (character started silly, ended up having hidden depth) and I've noticed my PCs became used to it with reoccurring characters, bc thats just how they talk

Capitalism views art as a luxury treat you can live without, as opposed to a cornerstone of human culture, memory and expression. Of course it doesn't value our relationship with art. It doesn't value YOU. It values what it can make the most money from, and you are expensive when compared to free.

I decided to do some fanart for one of my favorite bits of text from #FallenLondon today!!! interesting how illness spreads~

Traditional art of a telegraph office, with four cubicles. The entire piece is monochrome, except for red. One is unoccupied and missing its chair. There is a love note with a red heart. There are gooey strings of red, and streaks and stains of blood in the cubicle. The wire for the morse code taper is severed, and red oozes off of it

A screenshot of Fallen London Airs text which reads: Long queues at the telegraph office – one of the operators is out with love-sickness
