India’s SIR process has stripped more than 130 million names from draft voter rolls. Tech Policy Press fellow Apar Gupta argues the opaque system — run by an election commission whose members are appointed by the ruling government — is a model for digital authoritarianism.

I was curious about a question: how much cryptanalytic work have human beings done on various problems, and how much AI inference does that represent? So I asked Claude and Astra to measure. bitsofwork.org

Most of this Silicon Valley network in AI is also Epstein's network. It's not just women and girls who are groomed and abused by these men. Perhaps a death and sex cult shouldn't be left to self regulate tech products. We need accountability and justice.

Imagine being lowered into a gas chamber while fully conscious. The gas causes pain as it dissolves into the moist tissues of your eyes, nose, mouth and lungs. Breathing becomes extremely painful. And you may remain conscious for up to 60 seconds before finally blacking out.

It's funny to me when someone thinks that giving the "right" prompts to the LLMs is a task worth some praise or recognition. You are researches, not prompt-engineers (even that job is obsolete now). And by verifying LLM generated proofs, at best you are a good reviewer, who is often anonymous.

🇵🇸 More than 70 children are among 100 Palestinians being laid to rest in Gaza today after their bodies were recovered from beneath their homes’ rubble, Dr. Muneer al-Bursh, director general of Gaza’s Health Ministry writes on X. Families waited two years, some longer, to bury them.

More than 8,000 people remain missing under the rubble, he says. Israel continues blocking heavy machinery needed to recover bodies, according to civil defense teams. Al-Bursh called for Israel to stop blocking rescue equipment, forensic supplies, and DNA testing to identify the dead.

He also accused Israel of mixing human remains with rubble, warning that this risks destroying evidence. In the southern city of Rafah, he said, bones have become mingled with debris. He urged action before Israel could conceal evidence of its crimes.

“Every set of remains bears a name, and every name a family that waits.”

Seventy Children in One Funeral… This Is What Genocide Looks Like

Today, Gaza lays one hundred martyrs to rest, more than seventy of them children, whose bodies were pulled from beneath the rubble of their homes after years.

These children should have been carrying their schoolbags to school, playing and growing and dreaming… not being carried from beneath the rubble to their graves.

They were not numbers; they were names and faces and little dreams, and mothers and fathers who waited far too long to bid their children farewell.

When children form the majority of a funeral of this size, the question becomes agonizing:

If this is not one of the faces of genocide, then what does genocide look like?

Gaza today is not only burying its children…
It is burying dreams that should have grown.

ah yes, the Nobel prize winning algorithm. the gale shapley algorithm. the algorithm that produces the best result for the proactive party and the worst result to the people in the receiving end.
Hinge is built on the belief that anyone looking for love should be able to find it. It’s also built on an acclaimed Nobel-Prize-winning algorithm, so we can succeed in getting you out on promising dates, not keeping you on the app. There may be many stable matchings for the same system of preferences. This raises the question: which matching is returned by the Gale–Shapley algorithm? Is it the matching better for applicants, for employers, or an intermediate one? As it turns out, the Gale–Shapley algorithm in which employers make offers to applicants always yields the same stable matching (regardless of the order in which job offers are made), and its choice is the stable matching that is the best for all employers and worst for all applicants among all stable matchings.[11]

Life is full of things that, by complexity or design or lack of care or required time, are hard to navigate: healthcare, government, personal finance, school forms are all among them It is why I feel consumer AI is underrated. People muddle by, but are missing support & AI is good enough to help.
