You should be afraid! I knit one with 4 colours some rows. I should have duplicate stitched the 4th but I was younger & stupider 😂 I hadn’t knit a stranded sweater for 20 years & they were 2 max. This is the first time I’ve used mohair. It’s working out. The “waves” went away with a little steam.

It’s merino 100% wool held together with 100% wool mohair. Both are Knitting for Olive. I wound them together. I couldn’t imagine juggling 4 or 6 balls of yarn. Some rounds use three colours.

Update 2: Baltic Storm I’ve finished the yoke started 17 Sept. Before proceeding I’d like to check with the hive about whether the tight floats will block out. That sounds lovely. There’s one at my favourite not quite local yarn store that I’ve attended and enjoyed but it’s 30 km away and I just don’t seem to have the spoons (as my daughter says) to get there.

Almost never 😂 I’ve only regretted that a couple of times. These socks should have been knit with a smoother yarn to should the pattern better. It didn’t have to be the exact yarn. I have knit socks in a yarn that would work be they didn’t have any at my not so local LYS in colours I wanted.

I had an anaphylactic reaction to a wasp sting. There are a lot of them around here. I got an EpiPen & got stung again so I spent the summer mostly indoors. On to colder weather & knitting with the fireplace on. Hopefully, I’ll get to see the allergist & start venom treatment before next summer.

Holding 2 threads of 3 colours is a challenge. I’m glad I wound them together before knitting but it’s still a challenge. The mohair thread is so thin.

I tend to knit tight in colour work so I’m being extra careful. I have to move the colours from one hand to the other necessitating untangling after each section. Ladderback jacquard is coming along.

I’m with you. The only beige I have is cream (joke) and even it’s there only to make colours pop. When we bought our house nearly every room was beige. One still is because I had too much to do. That one is a taupe grey-brown so it’s tolerable since it’s just a spare room anyway.

Love beading. My arthritic hands can still do it, but finding just the right tool has alluded me. I have one that works (holds lots) but the “hook” is so tiny it’s hard to work with. I wish it were “longer” not wider if that makes sense. Crochet hooks don’t hold enough. ⬇️ 1800 beads. Took a while.

The worst part is that the pattern disappeared, but that was me. I recently found a pattern I thought was misplaced. It was for some fancy fingerless mittens. I finally found it… in a pamphlet which had sock patterns and randomly had this mitt pattern 😂 Maybe there’s hope?

My daughter wore it to a swim lesson & forgot it. By the time she remembered (20 mins) it was gone. Not turned in, so stolen. It had a small error & I always hoped I’d see it & catch the culprit. It would have been funny b/c the error was on the shoulder near the neck 😂 Never lend to a pre-teen.

I have her Star Wars book. My daughter bought it for me so I’d knit her something from it. This shawl was huge and had 1,800 beads. I ran out of beads at the very end and used wooden ones for the bottoms edge.

This vest was based on a Mary Maxim sweater pattern. My friend’s mum started years before & couldn’t finish. Her son found it & asked me if I would finish. Of course! His mum was so pleased. She gave me the salmon pattern, which was one my mum knitted for my father. She passed away shortly after.

It’s about the length of a miniskirt! It’s so much nicer and more comfortable than piling on a bunch of clothes. I need to get a waterproof cape to wear over it. It’s great for cold clear days but we live in a rain forest (west coast of Canada) so it’s rains too hard for just the sweater. .
