Blue & white knitting on a circular needle.

Holding 2 threads of 3 colours is a challenge. I’m glad I wound them together before knitting but it’s still a challenge. The mohair thread is so thin.

I tend to knit tight in colour work so I’m being extra careful. I have to move the colours from one hand to the other necessitating untangling after each section. Ladderback jacquard is coming along.

For #showmeyourknits the only baby knitting I’ve done since my daughter was born. My DIL asked me to knit this for her friend’s baby. I sadly don’t & won’t have grandchildren. Breaks my heart but I would never pressure my kids. That’s just wrong. I understand why & I keep my mouth firmly shut 🤐

All ready to go… 🧶 Pretty good on getting the colours the same (not fussed about using the same, but both are close). Both are alpaca, wool and nylon. These were the easiest hanks to wind into cakes that I’ve ever done. Both tied so that it was easy to set up the swift. #knitsky #socks

I’ve knit a few rats. This is Ratty IV. A friend saw one I gave to another friend and liked it so I made her one. I’m going to make one for my daughter’s cat with catnip inside — I’ll try to make it with an opening so the nip can be replenished. Should be able to. Rats! I think I got it on Ravelry.

#showmeyourknits #WIP I give you this mess (1st pic). I want to knit the Kelvin–Helmholtz Waves Cowl in brioche (2nd pic). This is my test knit. I’ve done brioche & now had the, maybe, stupid idea to up my brioche skills 🧶 I’m using a provisional C-On then an i-cord C-off instead of an i-cord C-on.

The stopped circular needle cord holds the provision cast on for the i-cord cast off. Suzanne Bryan video technique (YouTube). I’ve never done an i-cord cast on (or off before). I liked her instructions the best.

Beautiful blue and black Kelvin–Helmholtz Waves Cowl in brioche. Free pattern on Ravelry. Only criticism so far is that the pattern assumes you know to do yarn overs in the right places. It just says “bring yarn to the front”. I’m struggling with a row because there aren’t enough yarn overs or I got them wrong. I’ll work it out. Typical of free patterns IMO.

#FOFriday A nightmare. I’ve made this 4 times & didn’t think to check the yardage of the 100 gm skein. I got through the 2nd lace section & realized I was going to fail at yarn chicken. So back I went. I found 2 leftovers in grey that looked the same. A tiny bit of both colours left. See alt 🧶

My first brioche in the round project. I wanted to learn brioche & decided a headband would be a good 1st project. As a test, I made a dog “collar”. I’m going to give it to my friend for her dog then make a matching headband for her. We do silly dog things. Rocky is the model & she’s not pleased 😂
