Brave Heart is an intervenor.
We view phase 1, 2 and the final survey as:
substandard, lacking protections, and effective cultural archaeology.
The survey submitted by Magellan OneOk is incomplete, inaccurate, and unacceptable.
The template used is a destructive western archaeological exercise.
Pipeline violates PUC orders and stated that they believed we were not qualified to do a traditional cultural survey, therefore none was done. This undermines the integrity of the survey standing of others stakeholders.
Areas of important sacred site areas were completely ignored and not included.
Tribal participation and perspectives were minimized
as only six tribes participated in the survey out of 27 tribes that are affiliated.

The relatives of the endangered species were not respected or considered for protection. In the 1850s, their were 6,000 species in Pipestone County and now they are reduced to 600, this is ecological destruction that will affect thousands of other ecosystems.
Brave Heart Society's Hydrologist, Dr. Alexis Archambault, stated, "This sacred landscape took over a billion years to form and it's unique because this specific variety of Pipestone is only found in this one place on Earth. There is a scarcity concern because it's limited in quantity, as it only has a thickness of 8"-11" and confined to an area of just 200-300 feet. The Oceti Sakowin and hundreds of other tribes across Turtle Island consider this the Genesis of sacred sites and have protected it for millennia.
