iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

For a while, I had a sneaking suspicion that the reason Monster Hunter Rise had a bias for the Long Sword, was because Onimusha Way of the Sword was in development. The free costumes you get in Onimusha are of Yomogi and Hinoa, specifically. Then there's the crossover art they had 🤔

I was honestly hoping to enjoy the ten day house sitting in quiet solitude. But too many things and people require my attention 🥲

There sure are a lot of active Pokemon GO players out there still even after ten years 🥴 It's kinda fun making it my morning routine, walking around, catching, gathering and battling again. Love all the new features like auto-catching and gathering.

My cousin taught me about Shuten Doji the other day when I showed him this clip. Basically, he was just as unhinged irl as in the game. I loved how the history fit perfectly with this interpretation 😆

One thing Onimusha Way of the Sword introduced was a fourth type of being. Dokyo is neither Genma or Oni. Upon her death she looked up at the sky and wondered why she was sent down and why they warped her body. She never reveals her face but her eye was briefly visible upon death.

000

Gillie @guillevongenbu.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

I beat the game 🥲 There were onions all over my room. 20 long years and it was worth it. Also the Panda costume!! 😭 There were so many callbacks that only diehard fans such as myself would catch, and I loved every minute of it. One question was unanswered, what exactly was Dokyo? 👀

Also, new reaction image. Musashi is judging your last saved image

000

Gillie @guillevongenbu.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

This is the most unserious scene in the entire game so far and I love it 😂

000

Gillie @guillevongenbu.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

Man, Onimusha's choreography is unmatched. Sidenote, it's kinda funny how the Oni are redheads to differentiate from the Japanese population.

Gillie @guillevongenbu.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

Was explaining Onimusha to my gf and realized just how easy it is to describe it. Samurai game that kills demons and absorbs their souls. I warned her that I could talk her ear off over it but she didn't seem to mind 😏

Alright time to check out the Direct. I have a feeling I'll see THAT game in it and I just can't stand the nonsense that series put me through just to get to the part I gave a shit about.

Hold up, there was a new Metroid game announced? 👀 And it's Metroid 6?! Holy shit. Guess I do have exactly one reason to get a Switch 2

You can pet the liondogs in Onimusha Way of the Sword.

Musashi asking the real questions 😆 I have always wondered that in the older titles

000

Gillie @guillevongenbu.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

Enjoying the perfect balance of comedy and tragedy this game offers 😌

000

Gillie @guillevongenbu.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

I'm really loving this game 😆

000

Gillie @guillevongenbu.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

At least they're together, bound by a literal red thread of fate, in a sick twisted sort of way

000

Gillie @guillevongenbu.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

This fucking gameplay and Musashi's sass towards Shizuka for not waking up after all the Malice was absorbed 😌 This is exactly what I expected from an Onimusha game

000

Gillie @guillevongenbu.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

No I will not shut up about Onimusha 🤩 Another reference but this time it's of Onimusha 3. This fallen monument was used for Jacque's first weapon that he obtained, the flame sword whip, Enja.

000

Gillie @guillevongenbu.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Love the title screen. Even this is a reference to past Onimusha titles. At the beginning of every game, there is always a zoomed in eye or organ

000

Gillie @guillevongenbu.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

I'm loving the references from previous Onimusha titles. Genma being impervious to human made weapons, Genma eating a crow can be a nod to Munenori or that one side quest in 2, and now the Man in White is back but this time as a Japanese man as opposed to a European.

000

Gillie @guillevongenbu.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

New game, 3 generations later, still the same old impassible barricade game machanic 😆

000

Gillie @guillevongenbu.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

The greatest swordsman who ever lived, is fodder to the Genma. Ho-ly shit 👀 The fodder Genma overpowered Musashi 😱

Pokemon GO has definitely changed a lot since I last played in... 2021!? 🥴 I don't even remember catching so many legendaries. But I caught three shinies today 😁

001

Haven't played Pokemon GO in years but seeing my cousin play and catch so many rare Pokemon at my ranch is making me change my mind 😅

Onimusha Way of the Sword is finally out but I won't be able to play until tomorrow... Ah well I waited 20 years for a new game, what's another day?

Even after 20 years, I still know the early game lock code that gets you access to Rare Antlers. The code is cleverly hidden in a dead guy's story via Tenkai's ability to talk to the dead. In that story, he mentions three numbers but doesn't outright tell you it's the passcode.

Gillie @guillevongenbu.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

After 20 years 🥹 Now Capcom just needs to rerelease Onimusha 3 and I'll have all 4 back on a PlayStation console

Ayo wtf?! 👀 DAWN OF FUCKING DREAMS RERELEASED ON THE 18TH?! I was avoiding Onimusha Way of the Sword to avoid spoilers and shit so this slipped my radar 👀 and it's only $5 🤩🤑
