That is a golang-specific image builder that happens to run in userspace without needing a docker daemon. Very much a special case at this point

Big thanks to @zzstoatzz.io for being my sherpa into the #atmosphere. In just one night, I moved my Bluesky identity to my self-hosted PDS and booted my tangled.org knot (tangled.org/guid.foo/gui...). I'm getting dizzy.

Ha just a weird experiment that surprised me by how fun it was. Imagine an old school MUD or Zork that just wove the story as you played it. Keeping the worldbuilding in markdown files as it went. I might resurrect it some time soon

New plan: downgrade from 20x to the 5x plan, use the other half of that budget for DeepInfra tokens for simpler non-coding agents (the D&D storytelling DM, the autonomous agent, etc)

Okay, it's actually pretty hard to beat Claude in real-world use. I found myself falling back to Claude to fix and write guidance for the lower-intelligence models. I don't think I can drop Claude for writing code.

Chris Guidry @guid.foo · 21/02/2026
It's not all roses, though, I did get frustrated and had to call in Claude briefly to clean up a mess they made.

This is the exact experiment I'm running now. Pi is very good! I'm finding GLM-5 is very capable but still kinda pricey. Getting some interesting results with MiniMax 2.5 which is insanely cheap for the intelligence.

I'm mostly sore about the ToS changes that make it impossible to build weird AI things on top of Claude with your subscription. The retail API prices are insane.

Chris Guidry @guid.foo · 19/02/2026
I just downgraded my personal Anthropic subscription from Max 20x to Pro. Still a huge fan of Claude and will be keeping it for work, but I need a service that lets me actually _experiment_ with AI. I've loaded up a budget with DeepInfra and have been using GLM with opencode and it's damn fine.

Streams are so great if you want a pub/sub system that's reliable but doesn't require a PhD in distributed systems. We're running a whole lot of Prefect Cloud on streams for background work queues and also to deliver messages for websocket subscribers. Thanks for the shout @zzstoatzz.io ✊

New podcast episode on MCP apps and what we're learning as this unfolds. The interesting question is where this goes next. We're recording these knowing things will shift and that's the point. Figure it out in public, see what sticks. Link below.

Even in our polarized country, more and more people from left, right, and center are coalescing to demand change. It's happening because a freedom-loving nation does not allow masked, militarized government agents to violate our civil liberties.

Yeesh I hate being repetitive, and yet... It's time once again to remind my fellow Americans that there is no mechanism whereby state run elections can be suspended or canceled by the federal government. None. So don't go along with any garbage you hear to that effect. Laugh, and get ready to vote.

Anthropic Hires Back Two Coding AI Leaders From Cursor Developer Anysphere

In a surprising reversal, two leaders of Anthropic’s coding product who joined rival Anysphere two weeks ago have returned to Anthropic, according to people with direct knowledge of the move.

In early July, Boris Cherny and Cat Wu left Anthropic, where they had developed a fast-growing artificial intelligence coding service, Claude Code, to join the maker of Cursor in more senior roles, becoming head of engineering and head of product, respectively.

The move was notable because Cursor relies on AI from Anthropic to power its coding app and is one of Anthropic’s biggest customers, and it raised questions around what the two companies’ relationship would look like after the change.

Cherny and Wu did not respond to multiple requests for comment. Cursor has over 100 employees, and surging revenue has made it a darling among venture capitalists this year.Cat goes outside and immediately comes back.

🛑 Stop converting your REST APIs to MCP. I know that slick OpenAPI-to-MCP converter feels like magic, but it's poisoning your agent. I'm telling you this as the person who built the most popular one. Here’s why we need to rethink agent-first API design: www.jlowin.dev/blog/stop-co...

Introducing MCP-native middleware, as easy as 1-2-FastMCP. With FastMCP 2.9, you can now add cross-cutting logic like auth and logging with high-level hooks that understand your tools and resources. See how it works: www.jlowin.dev/blog/fastmcp...

Speaking of testing MCP servers... FastMCP just crossed a milestone with over 1,000 unit tests! That gives us the confidence to move fast *without* breaking things. The entire official MCP Python SDK, including FastMCP 1.0, only has about 350 tests...
