From the very Nikon d50. Love the real camera. The phone camera tends to give you much more consistency with lighting and focus but the 20 year old dslr pictures come out great when you get it right. Also being able to take pictures from further away opens up a lot of possibilities.

It has summer tires in the front and all seasons in the back 😬. The tire options are pretty limited for it so I can't do the OEM sizes but I can get a pair that match the fronts pretty easily and they've got lots of life left. It also came with a set of 15" steelies from a Scion for all seasons.

Got my stuff back from the machine shop! Obviously was required to lay it all out and get pictures assisted by @ncglasgow.bsky.social. The last pic is the overly complicated stand I made to balance my rods, which I'm also lightening because I live dangerously. Getting close to assembly. #weirdcarbs

You can also buy this (for $300!! Not happening) which I think is rather ugly but would probably be a good thing to copy. I do have access to a car with one and I know they work so I might try and inspect it a little closer.

The factory air filter arrangement included a crude stub stack which I guess works pretty well. I am going to be bringing my intake through the core support and it would be interesting to try and make the air box/intake more a part of the velocity stack like in a modern engine.

Good to know. I'll probably do a control with no air box and one with the factory filter setup, should be interesting to compare. I've seen a few engines ran in on the dyno with SU'S and despite the mechanics recommendation none of them have had their filters on.

The carbs have a little spring loaded pin thing that you can use to move up the piston that normally moves with vacuum and if the rpm drops you're lean and if it goes up you're rich which seems ok, but I would like to get a wideband O2 sensor involved. You also have to balance them front to back.

I have created a finger print issue for my car with rusty floor pans and no engine. The velocity stacks are a rough draft 3d printed in PLA, I plan to dyno a few variations and the final versions will be done in carbon fiber nylon. Engine and custom air box coming soon (eventually)!

The 2005 Honda Civic is objectively the best car, and mine is objectively the best 2005 Honda Civic.

My excessively shinny plywood trunk deck in the back of my civic. Also my local 48, "electricity will kill you" and "I ❤️ abortion" bumper stickers.

My trunk with the carpet put back and tools crammed in. My boots are very muddy.

They're just little rubber seals that came with the box. They're really thin where the terminals are so you can poke your wires through where you need them. I don't think they'll be very waterproof long term but then again, neither is the rest of the car.
