@legrandcourtil.bsky.social I'm going to take some photos of my daughter's garden to show what can be done with what was effectively a concrete yard in almost total shade from unpruned trees and a brick and concrete area with straggly half dead hedges. It is now full of colour.

I had a gardener! Was just thinking I would never see him again after weeks of waiting he turned up unannounced at 9 this morning. Family start arriving on island this evening so we will be able to sit out without risk of getting lost in the undergrowth.

Had a stroll around the garden between coughing bouts. The untidiness works well at this time of year with self seeded wallflowers in lovely colours mixes and my little "bluebell wood"under the apple trees. They are invaders but will disappear before they set seed and there are no natives nearby.

Had to cancel my sitter. I have an annoying tickly cough. No other symptoms but if I am brewing something I don't want to spread it around so worked in the garden all afternoon instead. Nearly finished weeding the pollinator patch. Wallflowers and stock creating a beautiful scent and bees everywhere

Just discovered another excellent service offered by the Adult Community Services. Assisted bathing. OH can't get in and out of the bath. He can now use a special bath with a lift once a week at the Day Centre. They wheel him in, he has his bath and they even give him a coffee before he comes home.

Reckon thne most useful kitchen gadget is a pair of BBQ tongs and I don't have a BBQ. Useful for grabbing things on shelves out of my reach but found a new use today. To close small upper windows against this sudden wind I hooked the window handle with the handle of the tongs then twisted to secure.

My tribulation with Condor Ferries continue. After asking for an email address to send confirmation that I had been given a quote less than 2 weeks ago, not 2 months ago as they stated I was given one that doesn't work! I have now made my own alternative bookings but am pursuing my complaint.
