I think autocorrect has done some autocorrupt! Took me a few minutes to work out you meant Grangetown.

Not seen it, but there is/was an Acorn website that appears to be 100% made up nonsense.

Been there, only to be betrayed by someone from IT,"Why would you do that?" Hateful piece of software.

Too early for me. I'm guessing about 1990. Still a bit anything goes though.

I think it was an 85. Was an open day at Crewe, but said loco presumably wasn't supposed to be part of it!

Once climbed into the cab of a condemned Roarer to find the ceiling panels missing and what I assumed to be blue asbestos all over the floor. Climbing back out again!

DLR lift entrance through the original City & South London Railway building on the corner of King William Street and Post Office Court? It isn't at all well signed.

Presumably done only a few years after the first photo was taken as part of the work to allow the Bakerloo (now Jubilee) line to replace the Met slow lines. The platform buildings and staircase are distinctly late 1930s.

That font and stone dolphin. Daisy approves. 🐬
The name Dolphin Court in individual letters and a distinctly 1950s font. To the right of a stone sculpture of a dolphin.

It's done better than the identical footbridge at Merstham - that was really worryingly corroded, and was replaced about 15 years ago. There's a third example at Sanderstead.

I never liked the look of the A5000, simply because it looked like a generic PC. The older Arcs at least had a distinctive appearance.

Merstham has a few marked SEC&DR, which is odd as the joint management committee wasn't called that!

First day of the Charing Cross closure and probably the quietest I've seen London Bridge station since lockdown.
The almost deserted concourse of London Bridge station

So to use the toilet in Hayes Galleria, I have to go back into the shop I've been in, hope they remember me, and get a code.... Security guard on a power trip needs to fuck right off. 😈

Kevin Gibson @gslug1.bsky.social · 12/07/2026
Seems the owners of Hayes Galleria didn't get the message. They've just extended the shops over theirs. 🐬😞

I'd imagine the 12LDA28 lump in a Peak might be rather heavier than the class 40's 16SVT, as despite having fewer cylinders, it is really too class 25 engines side by side, with two crankshafts geared together.

Made it there and back, though Great Northern seemingly started falling apart as I arrived back at King's Cross. Only spent a couple of hours in the museum, as it was rather warm.

Southern were doing this a few weeks ago. Most of the suburban area seemed to be done, though they did resign Gypsy Hill in black on white RA2.

The toilet one is even worse, and has been flipped by a gust of wind.
And arrow shaped sign, with text readings GENTLEMANS TOILET, stuck at an odd angle.

View of a station platform and associated buildings, plus an extremely tacky "Victorian" sign reading FIRST CLASS WAITING ROOM in white on black.
