gryffe.bsky.social @gryffe.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Over the years I've never met a Caroline I didn't like, and probably the reason I've always loved the name. It is challenging listening to that insufferable Neil Diamond song right enough. Lou Reed of course made his Caroline probably the most complex character ever written about in musical history. 010

gryffe.bsky.social @gryffe.bsky.social · 12/09/2026You're in for a treat😎 Perhaps start with the LP that song is lifted from - Pleased To Meet Me. It also includes the utter classic single "Alex Chilton". The LP after that Don't Tell A Soul another really good LP. Going further back Let It Be is perhaps the LP that really built their reputation. 122
gryffe.bsky.social @gryffe.bsky.social · 09/09/2026£2.25 was the first price I can remember paying in the local record shop, probably for Hunky Dory. Could be wrong but think it stayed that price for a bit. 140
gryffe.bsky.social @gryffe.bsky.social · 09/09/2026My first too. My mum bought it for me in from the local grocery store in 1972. I was 12. Guessing it cost 50p too, everything seemed to have a uniform price back in those days. Think Debora had been re-released around the same time. 120
gryffe.bsky.social @gryffe.bsky.social · 08/09/2026Re MMO'H. I hadn't played Miss America for absolute ages, then when her actress sister Catherine O'Hara died recently it prompted me to pull it from the CD rack and take a trip down memory lane. Absolutely unique. 010

gryffe.bsky.social @gryffe.bsky.social · 04/09/2026There's three of my absolute all time favourite LP's in there at 1, 4 and 26. And there's also Lou's debut, but lets not go there! Bolan Boogie should just have been the greatest 4 track EP ever released rather than 14 tracks with some filler. 1.Ride A White Swan2.Hot Love.3.Get It On.4.Jeepster 000
gryffe.bsky.social @gryffe.bsky.social · 04/09/2026Yeah that's why I remembered it, due to the Danish (sort of!) connection. I loved it, seen it at least twice. The Mads one is good value at only £1.99 on Apple TV or Amazon Prime Video for anybody intrigued by it! 110
gryffe.bsky.social @gryffe.bsky.social · 04/09/2026Looking forward to it. Another in a similar vein? 110
gryffe.bsky.social @gryffe.bsky.social · 04/09/2026I've seen both Fargo and Three Billboards Ebbing etc a few times so I'm all over the Mads one. Thanks for posting the trailer pal. Weekend film sorted! 110

I was going to the gig the next night and either I forgot The Cure were support or didn't know. A diary would have clarified. 130
gryffe.bsky.social @gryffe.bsky.social · 12/08/2026Great listen pal, you and Jessica really riffed off each other so enthusiastically. The line that jumped out for me was "A diary is a great corrector and the bigger truth"😎 Agree that punk truly was a liberating movement, we were oh so lucky to be teenagers in the mid to late 70's. 110
gryffe.bsky.social @gryffe.bsky.social · 12/08/2026Was due to go to the Glasgow Apollo gig the next night.
