Cautiously optimistic by Kirby Dach's first game of the season vs Toronto. While I won't go as far as claiming victory like his 10-members fan club, he was okay. But is okay enough at this stage in his career? No. He needs to build on it and be more consistent. #GoHabsGo #Habs

Missed my latest on The Sick Podcast? The line of Caufield, Suzuki and Kreider didn't exactly set Toronto on fire. Before anyone starts sounding the alarm, there's something else worth considering. #GoHabsGo #Habs thesickpodcast.com/lagrange-mon...

My latest on The Sick Podcast: One Canadiens line looked like it had been together for years. Another looked like it had just met. The difference was noticeable, but so was the final score. #GoHabsGo #Habs thesickpodcast.com/lagrange-mon...

The #Leafs better hope that Raddysh's game last night is not a sign of things to come... He was absolutely brutal. Otherwise, the #GoBolts will be proven right.

The Secret About A Father’s Love
One day, you’ll bury your dad. It is a thought most of us would rather push to the back of our minds, because as long as Dad is still here, somehow we assume there will always be another phone call, another visit, another piece of unsolicited advice about something we already know how to do. We may roll our eyes when he tells us to be careful, to drive slower, to wear a jacket or to get more rest, but there is something behind all of it that we don't always recognize while we are busy living our own lives.

Unlike many on this platform, I won't even pretend to know how good or bad of a contract #Leafs Kirill Marchenko's will be. Time will tell. What I do know however is that the likeliness of the #Habs regretting any of their current contracts is slim to none. #GoHabsGo

Here are a few NHLers (or former) whom I think Zach Bolduc could (or should) try to imitate: - Blake Coleman - Alex Killorn - Anders Lee - Patric Hornqvist - Ryan Callahan - Andrew Ladd - David Perron - T.J. Oshie Physical, providing secondary scoring. #GoHabsGo #Habs

Do you have any BOLD predictions for the #Habs season? Let me try: 1- Kreider 25+ goals 2- Reinbacher permanent NHLer by Nov.30 3- F. Xhekaj back in Laval within 2 weeks 4- Monty & Dach don’t finish the season with the #GoHabsGo 5- Hage: a difference maker for the playoffs

Are there ANY #Habs fans who would have accepted to trade Juraj Slafkovsky for Kirill Marchenko? Please identify yourself if you would. Because that's the closest equivalent to Matthew Knies. There's no way I would have done that, personally. #GoHabsGo

I understand the confusion. I guess the point I was trying to get across that I'd rather they had kept Reinbacher and played him. I would make for better pairing while Guhle returns.

My colleagues and I, at @thesickpodcasts.bsky.social, made our predictions BEFORE the Knies/Marchenko trade. So, @murphyslaw74.bsky.social and @nicklariviere25.bsky.social, wanna change your prediction? I'm sticking with my original as I feel the step from Knies to Marchenko isn't enough.

A reminder… A year ago, the #Leafs beat the #Habs 5-2 for their season opener. At the end of the season, the #GoHabsGo finished with 106 pts, making it to the final four in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The #GoLeafsGo finished 15th in the East with 78 pts.

Hey #Habs fans. Which pairings do YOU prefer? Matheson - Dobson Hutson - Carrier Struble - Xhekaj or Matheson - Dobson Struble - Hutson Xhekaj - Carrier or Hutson - Dobson Matheson - Carrier Xhekaj/Struble - Reinbacher I personally like the last option the most. #GoHabsGo

#MorningGrump I wonder how long I would be on hold if my call wasn't important to them.
010
JD Lagrange @grumpa.ca · 29/09/2026
For what it's worth, I don't think that two #Leafs GMs were wanting to trade Knies. I think that the player wanted out of Toronto, for whatever reason.

JD Lagrange @grumpa.ca · 29/09/2026
If the #Habs could get their hands on a proven left-handed 2C who can win faceoffs, they would be much further ahead than by acquiring Knies or Marchenko. And that's why, personality aside, someone like Dylan Larkin would have a much bigger impact on the #GoHabsGo.

Something that's been bugging me for a while... What I would really like to know is exactly what happened at trade deadline, when a deal wasn't submitted in time to the league. That's a major mistake by a major league team, whomever is responsible. #GoHabsGo #Habs

The difference between the two is not what (too many) people make it to be. Not today, even less tomorrow.

Unpopular opinion: I'm glad Marchenko finally got traded. I was getting tired of the endless rumours of him and the #Habs. At one point, when it drags on, and on, and on... it gets redundant and tiring. Now, we can move on. #GoHabsGo

If you think that replacing Knies by Marchenko will tip the balance enough, you are either overestimating Marchekno or downplaying what Knies had to offer. The #Leafs aren't adding Marchenko. They are gaining the ever so slight difference between the two.
010
JD Lagrange @grumpa.ca · 29/09/2026
Fans & media trying to convince anyone who will listen that Kirill Marchenko is FAR superior to Matthew Knies are way off. While some of Marchenko's numbers are a bit better, Knies is 3 years younger, and on a much cheaper contract starting in 2027-28. frozenpool.dobbersports.com/frozenpool_c...

The reported trade is apparently not one for one but if it was Knies for Marchenko, it would be a lateral move at best for the #Leafs.
