I think companies that are embedding the big name LLMs into their systems are going to regret it. They're sinking money into things thinking it will be easier to maintain, but it's really just outsourcing to a black box that you don't own.

My hatred for Gemini grows daily. It is making everything I use suck. It's in Google Health which replaced the Fitbit app, and it is wrong every damn day. Withings is now also using Gemini and the accuracy has gone to shit. I'm getting Microsoft 1999 levels of hatred towards Google.

Too many queer people have tunnel vision when it comes to punishing wrongs vs supporting the good. Like, be reasonable. Boycotting a whole team or even league over the presence of 1 or 2 MAGA players doesn't make any kind of sense. There are more fine tuned ways to protest.

Cost of car maintenance is more complex than this. I once bought a cheap compact car and it turned out to be expensive to maintain because of the labor involved in fixing a compact car. Like they had to virtually take the thing apart to get to the part to be replaced.

I think one of the more frustrating things about having been poor and now being solidly middle-class is being around people who have never been poor. The assumption is always that poor people make bad decisions because they're uneducated or lazy. But their decisions are often practical.
