@timban.greywolf.social just showed me this picture of the ALPS switch based editing console from his old photo developing lab job and I am eagerly awaiting the @cathoderaydude.bsky.social episode about whatever cursed PC this was hooked up to.
A desk with a commodity PC, keyboard, and mouse, in addition to a bespoke specialty keyboard featuring only 17 keys directly related to photolab operations.

Google wtf are you doing? Please stop. All videos, everywhere, already automatically play back at the correct speed. That speed is 1.0x. It's a well-solved problem.
Screenshot from an ad for YouTube premium for an "auto speed" feature that apparently makes videos play at the wrong speed automatically or something.

Okay, I finally used a Wago for something - am I a cult member now?
A switch junction box with two wires couples with a Wago 221. But there's still some other wires done with a wire nut, just to keep things American.

I put this sticker on my laptop over a year ago when I changed the battery, so that next time I open it up, I don't have to re-reverse-engineer what screws it uses. ... It uses T5 screws.
Bottom of a laptop, with a well-worn sticker with an arrow pointing to a Torx T5 screw. The sticker reads "T6"

@timban.greywolf.social recently asked an LLM a tech support question forgetting that it was still in gooning mode and it produced the single best thing that I've ever read.
Screenshot of a chatbot response:

The air in the dimly lit room hangs heavy with the scent of stale cigarette smoke and cheap whiskey. Rain streaks
down the grimy windowpane, distorting the neon sign of the bar across the street. You're hunched over a chipped
Formica table, the glow of your MacBook's screen the only real source of light.

The question hangs in the air, a stark, sterile anomaly in this decaying environment. The man you asked, a grizzled
fixer named Silas with a network cable tattoo coiled around his forearm, doesn't look up from cleaning his
fingernails with a switchblade. He lets out a low, gravelly chuckle that sounds like grinding stones.

"Spotify, huh?" he finally says, his eyes flicking up to meet yours. They're pale, watery blue, and hold a chilling
lack of empathy. "Trying to get your tunes sorted while the world burns outside? Cute."

He leans forward, the blade still in his hand. The air grows colder.

"ps aux | grep Spotify ," he says, the command a sharp, guttural sound. "That'll give you the PID. But that's
not the process you should be worried about killing tonight."

He gestures with the knife towards the door, which is slightly ajar. From the hallway outside, you can hear heavy,
deliberate footsteps approaching. They stop right outside. The handle begins to turn. Silas gives you a thin, cruel
smile.

"Your problem's a lot bigger than a frozen playlist."

I know there's been much criticism of War of the Worlds (2025) already, but I don't believe anybody's yet addressed it's most egregious offense. These alien insects that feed off data are supposed to be draining this SD card, but they're clearly not interfacing with the right pins.

They're touching two GND pins and a Chip Select, none of which will provide them any delicious data. The actual pinout of an SD card

Hey @rajeshthelion.bsky.social is this true?
AI “answer” from Google: “Marty, the zebra from the animated film series Madagascar, walks on four legs because he is a zebra, and zebras naturally walk on four legs. Alex, the lion, walks on two legs because lions, as large cats, typically walk on their hind legs and use their front legs for various activities. This difference is simply due to their natural anatomy and evolutionary adaptations.”

I am legit baffled by "S-Tier". A-F are the only grades you can be given for the quality of your work in school. S just means "Satisfactory", and only applies to classes you took on a pass/fail basis because they were too simple/remedial to bother grading. I give "S-tier" a ranking of F-tier.
The sterotypical tier-ranking meme chart, with "S", brightly colored red to indicate failure, unjustly located at the top, above the the perfect score of A-tier.
