I thought of a fiction idea I haven't seen. Take the time travel style where the traveler goes back in time by inhabiting your body at some previous point in your past, and can relive experiences with future knowledge. Except an event happens to make this happen to EVERYONE.

I have had enough negative experiences pointing out transphobia, that I am now nervous to even say anything. I believe my observations are reasonable and measured. But many times now my observations have been reinterpreted into some kind of extremist version of my statement. In-person and online.

If five percent of the people at an event are cops, it makes for a bad time. Just standing in the path of people walking, and not moving, standing there trying to be intimidating. For no reason. They act like bouncers that think they need to keep people in line, not helpers keeping you safe.

They can restrict sports and kids now, because it seems popular for those who don't have the full story. Then they have a foundation, and can build on it to erode more rights later. Trans men walking into the women's room to make a point is just reinforcing the idea that none of us should exist.

There's a big problem with pointing at trans men winning in women's sports or going to women's bathrooms by going "this is what you asked for, you hypocrite!" It's not hypocracy, these are slow incremental restrictions to getting rid of trans rights entirely. They have explicitly said this.

Fast forward to today, and people are talking about subreddits for people my age. They are once again filled with folks just starting out whose life experiences and issues are foreign to me. This time I relate to the 20 year olds, because I remember that. They are also decades younger than me.

Its funny. I transitioned in the 1990s. Back then resources were few and far between, but what was there tended to be middle aged individuals. My therapist had a support group, and she sent me to the local TV/TS group to meet people (yeah, that's what it was back then)

I know that my mother seemed to desperately want me to be masculine, to the point of forcing me to sign up for weight training classes. I can rationalize this as the reaction of a parent with an "effeminate son" But really, this seems fucked up. Do the parents of cis kids act like that?

Did anyone else's parents complement them about puberty? I remember my mother looking at me with pride and talking about my voice, and that my shoulders were going to be so wide, and I was getting so tall. I'm seeing this through the lens of being trans and dysphoric.

I get multiple texts a day, every day, from campaigns across the country, and STOP on each one, block them, and report them as spam. Then some other campaign sends me a text because they purchased the same list. What I want to know is how do I find this list that is being sold to get off of it.

The whole reason people keep repeating this is for older people to stop younger people from doing things they don't like. They are using a pseudoscientific excuse to back it up. It's already making its way into law in places. We need to stop, and call it out as a myth whenever we see it.
