💖grottwo the 2st💛 @grottosstuff.bsky.social · 13/08/2026i also think about how they made a wish to see their friends specifically! even if there couldve been consequences they didnt care!! they wanted their friends back!!! this is very 4am rambling but i just think Nine’s really neat as a silent protag :> 050
💖grottwo the 2st💛 @grottosstuff.bsky.social · 13/08/2026i also like how the text lets you know how they feel sometimes too. like they greedily snatch up loot dropped by enemies. if they had an actual choice they wouldn’t have given the fyggs to aquila. the little banter they have with stella. and ofc them being sad when they’re alone in the postgame 150
💖grottwo the 2st💛 @grottosstuff.bsky.social · 13/08/2026when they lose their wings & halo the story feels more about doing things to try getting them back but then over the course of the story they end up loving the mortals. loving the mortals enough to give up any chance of being a full celestrian ever again for their sake 140
💖grottwo the 2st💛 @grottosstuff.bsky.social · 13/08/2026the way the “goody two shoes who always goes out of their way to help” applies to them is really interesting because it’s presented as something out of obligation but then it’s just. something they love to do . i feel like at the start of the game they’re super curious about mortals and - 140
💖grottwo the 2st💛 @grottosstuff.bsky.social · 13/08/2026I’ve always liked the small bits of characterization given to the Hero in DQ9 Like a good few of them are just silent protagonisms but when you combine it with them being a celestrian it feels so much more compelling somehow (cont.) 241
💖grottwo the 2st💛 @grottosstuff.bsky.social · 12/08/2026i wonder how many people didnt catch that the hero is ~300 years old actually 040
💖grottwo the 2st💛 @grottosstuff.bsky.social · 12/08/2026yknow i always wondered who says these lines at the start of the game and then right before credits im like 90% sure its meant to be the hero saying this but im curious about how other people interpret this dialogue 050
