Or to channel Diogenes... behold a pizza!
Picture of a cheeseburger with tomato. The joke being that since it has tomato and cheese it must be a pizza. It's a play on Diogenes tossing a plucked chicken at Plato after Plato proclaims that the definition of a man is featherless biped.

No, they don't. Mole is a specific group of dishes, not just random things with cocoa and chilies in it. There's also plenty of mole without cocoa.

Cocoa was eaten as a savory and spicy thing long before it was sweetened and turned into candy. Cocoa and chili peppers goes back thousands of years

Being a chef is not the same as being a cook. A chef is more of a management and creative position, it's a title in the kitchen. It's kind of like being an officer in the military where as cooks are enlisted troops.

It's an intimidation thing. They think it's going to be heavily criticized and judged like it's a food network game show. But food at least halfway decent and that you didn't have to cook yourself is always going to taste good, especially if you aren't paying for it.

That's my go-to answer cookbook for people wanting to learn serious cooking at home. It's clear, concise, and the recipes are really good. There's also so many editions over the years that it's a kind of time capsule into seeing people's eating habits change throughout time.

Thank you for admitting it's an entirely economic reason and not a quality reason. That's understandable... lying about the quality of the product to justify the protective tariffs doesn't do anyone any good.

So now knowing what's at the grocery store means I'm a groyper??? Because you just made a ridiculous boldfaced lie about something like really easy to verify and see you made it up just Trump does... it's so bizarre. Have fun with RFK jr eating roadkill. You need therapy

Except what you said is 100% false... we are talking about the same thing... American bread... so it's not changing the topic at all... you are just lying for some reason

I mean, the OP's graphic is pure misinformation and the kind of thing pushed by "wellness influencers" trying to sell scam products and services. This kind of misinformation dates back decades and it's just accepted as truth and spread without every checking into it.

Meanwhile Canada imports $1.3 billion worth of American dairy products a year... seems Canada does indeed want to deal with.

Grottan @grottan.bsky.social · 27/08/2026
Yes, indeed... but there's just as much ignorance on the anti-american side that automatically accept anything negative about the US as gospel truth without looking into it... kind of like the graphic the OP posted. It's same fake crap fake health influencers post here to sell things

I didn't know a parasitic fly that only infects mammals had an impact on eggs... where exactly do you think eggs come from?

Grottan @grottan.bsky.social · 27/08/2026
Except US eggs are NOT banned outside of the US... thats a lie. The US exported almost a billion dollars worth of eggs last year... they had to go somewhere www.fas.usda.gov/data/commodi...

Car wax is not approved for apples. That's an outright lie. It's like saying water is automobile engine coolant and should be illegal because of that.
040
Grottan @grottan.bsky.social · 27/08/2026
And vise versa... unwashed eggs are illegal to import to the US. It's not one method is better, both methods work but mixing methods leaves consumers confused on how to handle specific eggs.

It's just easier for a lot of these people to hate on the US without ever looking to see if what they said is even true.

My grandparents had already been doing for decades and had long figured out what worked best for them in their area and abilities before they were seniors. They had a large subsistence garden they were dependent on for about half their daily food. That's a very different thing from a hobby garden

Never trust anyone who simplifies things down to "open" or "closed" border. The US hasn't had an open border in over 100 years. It's only closed once in my lifetime and that was immediately after 9/11. It's not a binary like they try to paint it. The border is no more closed now than under Biden.

Keep in mind that Jordan paraded around an FBI FD-1023 all over Congress like it was a smoking gun on the Biden's. That's the report form the FBI uses to document unverified information and Jordan knew that. He knew it held no weight. The source also ended up being a Russian asset

The sad part is a ton of those farm stands are now just someone buying wholesale commercial produce and passing it off as something they grew themselves

It's not something that is practical for seniors to pick up as a new hobby because there is a lot of learning curve to it, my GPs had been doing it for decades. They had a separate deep freeze and pantry for what they produced and preserved. Spent lots of time as kid helping can things with them.

One pair of my grandparents were both rural school teachers. They grew a large chunk of their own produce out of necessity and kept doing it until their mid 70's. It was a tremendous amount of work but they were fortunate enough to have the land for it.

Smashburgers are a real thing, but this isn't one of those. Smashburgers are pressed pretty thin and cook quickly at high temperatures. It gives them a ton of sear and a unique texture. But because they are trendy, some places are slapping that name on other burgers trying to mislead people.

Steven Chueng is great at manufacturing controversy and sowing discord. I've lost count on the number of news stories he has manufactured. An expert at getting conservatives outraged over nothing. Just about as foul & evil as it gets, & the main reason why official WH releases are so nasty this term

Detroit PD was running that shelter and they had horrible conditions. El-Sayad never directly worked for the shelter, his office took control of the shelter so they could improve living conditions for those animals. Which is what happened. He inherited a problem and made a lot of improvements.

Before El-Sayed was in office DACC was under control of the DPD and they had horrific conditions. That's why control was shifted to El-Sayad's office to clean it up and improve it. Which he did. They are trying to paint blame on him for a problem he inherited and resolved.

The crazy thing is that was originally going to be a kind of a generic blood and guts monster movie with a lot more giant shark attacks depicted. The animatronics on the shark kept breaking which limited how much they could use it, forcing a script rewrite that depended on suspense instead of shock

FYI yachts like that almost always have a support vessel... in this case it's the 262 foot Wingman. It's designed to carry smaller boats and watercraft along with all the fuel for those toys. They had the means, equipment, and supplies to render assistance but didn't.

It's not so much that every Mexican dish is the same, it's that out of thousands of Mexican dishes Americans typically only eat the 5-6 that use the same ingredients because that's easier for restaurants to make so that's all most Americans are used to.

Can you actually articulate how those deaths were that guy's fault? Because those people died from suicide bombers... your logic makes Bush Jr responsible for 911... which I'm actually one board for, but I don't think you would be

I always think it's funny how the people who resist alternative energy refuse to admit that we could still leave some traditional plants operational just for emergency backups like someone keeping a generator at home. It's always 100% one way or another... they love a perfection fallacy
