this has been pretty eye opening. one game, still early, all that noise. but it feels like the canadiens aren’t a 2c away from being at the canes’ level. they are a fundamental shift in the way they approach their game away from being peers with carolina. last year wasn’t close. this isn’t close.

habs 2nd line has been cursed under this front office. dach’s career was derailed, laine got his knee exploded, newhook has been hurt a bunch. they should just skip it like hotels skip the 13th floor. 1st line, 3rd line, 4th line, 5th line. now the 2nd line can’t get hurt. habs, hire me.

option 2 is not only unique, it’s dynamic. whether you want to score a dirty goal in the blue paint, or tickle the twine from the point, the second option is the one.

interesting choice coming up with pp1. i think there are 2 leading options: 1. you try to replace demidov’s one timer and pull bolduc up from the 2nd unit 2. you bring up kreider to load up pp1. he plays net front, slaf plays demidov’s spot.
