Well we were on of the last German regions to join in, but tomorrow we will be part of the extreme heat warning zone. Personally the difference between strong heat at 36 Celsius and extreme at 37 is a bit arbitrary. However it is daunting and exhausting. Not to mention it has been all week.

Fijnmotoriek was in mijn kindertijd al een probleem. Een late groeispurt maakte het verre van beter. Door de jaren heen, met geduld en concentratie heb ik het naar een acceptabel niveau weten te brengen. Vermoeidheid van hoofd en lijf verstoren het raffinement. Tot zover de ijsschep.

Over 10 years in public transport. Got my bus driving licence 7 years ago to date. Spend nearly 5 of them (and counting) in #Bavaria A world away from broadcasting. Still the keen eye, sharp senses, proper timing and pushing buttons (being mostly mechanical) remain necessary. #Bayern #Buslife

After the recent #icedays, the remaining snow has been changed into ice Bit of a worry since this includes the parking space I need to make a U-turn with my bus. However (after the kids have disembarked), air suspension to max, ASR off and without a sweat the bus pulls through. ##Bavaria #Buslife

Of you're ever in Japan's mountain region, especially #Katayama. Grab yourself a #Burger @Center4Hamburgers. It might be difficult to get in. (The place is tiny, seats only 25) . But these burgers are worth the effort.

Hopped on a bus today, to get to the foot of #MtFuji Was stunned to find the Tokyo highway express bus station at the 4th floor, rather than the first. Deep admiration for my Japanese colleagues negotiating the ramps and turns to get back to street level. #notdrivingabuslife
