This is where modern #CSS really shines: anchor positioning, animating and dynamic colors with `oklch` + `color-mix`. All positioning and coloring is based on a single custom property. I'm having sooo much fun with this 😍🤩

The "hillhouse" project is really all I want to work on these days. Coincidentally, this is all I did today. It was a good day.

Small red wooden house approx 1.5m above ground. Fresh paint.

Two kids painting a wooden play house with red paint.

Inside the play house. Part of the wooden flooring done.

Landscape shot showing the unfinished play house and green fields behind it.

Hab ich mich vor kurzem auch bei der EVN gefragt.

Last night I was lucky enough to see the Foo Fighters live in Vienna's Happel Stadium. The stage was what felt like a kilometer away, but still one of the best shows I've experienced! The energy was unreal!

So, when did we decide Arrow-Up is a good icon for "Send"? (seen in Apple Mail, but also ui.shadcn.com/docs/changel... or claude etc)

Blue button with white arrow pointing upwards.

Gosh, that QR ligature is stunning! (the font is www.typemates.com/fonts/cera-r..., seen on webawesome.com/docs/compone...)

Screenshot of a card on the web-awesome website reading "QR Code", but the Q heavily extends below the R.

Gotta love a free open air festival in my home town, even if it's freezing cold and rainy 😀 #stp #stadtlandfluss

Update: We ended up deploying a similar solution as to the one outlined in the post to geizhals.at (grooovinger.com/notes/2026-0...). Supports dark mode as well. What required a bit more tinkering was the Compare-Widget that can sit flush to the bottom of the viewport, but the concept is the same.

Q: Why does it take forever to change the color of a product on the amazon website on my phone? A: Oh, that's why!

It is incredible to me that stuff like this is possible now with a few lines of CSS only. See it live: grooovinger.com/notes (on screens smaller than ~1000px the year is inlined without an animation though)

Hope that helps! 🙂

Blauer Button: Günstigste Anbieter für alle Produkte ermitteln

Turns out, building micro furniture is way more difficult than actual furniture. Every fraction of a millimeter can mess up the build. (The outer box is only 10cm wide) #diy #woodworking

Same wooden box but with drawer extended a few centimeters.

If you had trouble navigating the flamechart in the chrome #devtools #performance panel, try setting "Flamechart navigation" to "modern". With "modern", scroll actually scrolls, shift-scroll scrolls left/right and cmd+scroll zooms in/out. I prefer this setting, especially without a trackpad.

Section of chrome devtools performance settings panel. Flamechart navigation dropdown is set to value "Modern"

Super tiny christmas box morning build. The drawer is still missing, I'm thinking I might use thinner material for the inner drawer box to keep more room. #woodworking

On this day 10 years ago, my friend Peter and I were casing after paramilitary lewis trucks across the hot desert in Balochistan, Pakistan on our motorcycles.

colorful pakistani jingle truck next to a bunch of heavy armed forces having a laugh with me, standing next to my motorcycle.

Helmet POV, white truck with armed forces on the back overtaking a crazily overloaded truck. Rugged valley around us.
