Wow...definitely didn't see that coming. Really cool idea for expanding the game area. Void train with less void. Or snowpiercer but you get to make pit stops... lol

Extend it to the combination of our identities (likeness/name) along with addresses (home, email) and phone numbers. Then let us sue anyone using our likeness or information without our permission like it’s IP infringement. You can license out your info if you want. No more data brokering for free.

Fault Taunting xkcd.com/3296/
4-panel comic. (1) [Giant fishing rod-like cat toy positioned above four tectonic plates. Two helicopters that appear tiny due to scale fly above. People next to device are so tiny they cannot be seen.] PERSON 1: The key to exposing new geologic layers is understanding the three forces driving plate movement: slab pull, ridge push, and taunting. (2) PERSON 2: Taunting? What do– PERSON 1: *Initiate thrust fault pattern!* [The dangly end of the toy wiggles.] (3) “Rumble” sound effect from tectonic plates. (4) “Lunge!” sound effect from tectonic plates. [Plates split at a diagonal angling toward toy.]

My favorite thing from the announcement though was the way they converted the cell/wifi/battery indicators into a single icon. Really cool to me because of all the information in a small circle. Of course the downside is if you've never used an iPhone, you likely won't have any idea what it means.

Well, they're actually really late to the folding phone party. Lotta Android users have been using them for a while.

I'm usually not impressed with Apple's UI choices because they always seem hell bent on making it harder to work on a smaller screen but the new info icon (cell signal / wifi / battery) is really well done. Now, the real question: was that AI or did one or more humans come up with that? :)

And the reason? The burn was too high. Instead of maybe, I dunno, offering more options in exchange for salary cuts? Maybe finding ways to expand the business into a related market? Nah. And their reward? A solid exit a few years later. Welcome to tech startups...

At least with a bank, you (ideally) get some sort of interest rate back so your money being used by them is at least paying you a dividend, even if it's dismal these days. But a payroll company already charging you fees with everything electronic? So tired of greed...

Quickbooks recently forced businesses to rely on automatic tax payments for payroll. Normally, that's fine because I mean you've got to pay those taxes. But, right now, they withdrew funds for a tax not due until the end of the year! Imagine that with 100k businesses. They get to use those funds!

It's amazing how much some (maybe most) businesses try so hard to make money by cheating their own customers. I mean, what happened to producing a good product or service, making a decent but not exorbitant profit margin, and just benefiting from that?
