Feature Request for Amazon: give me a "Only Genuine" filter. If I search for an Apple Charger, I'm not looking for a charger compatible with Apple. If I search Oral B Tootbrush Heads I'm not looking for compatible ones.

TIL: In the UK, the law against carrying knives includes religious exemptions. As if religious knives were less sharp. I'll sit here waiting for the religious exemption to carrying explosive on airplanes and then stop flying, I guess?

The flotilla events are a ‘Trump level’ masterclass on how to create a diplomatic crisis out of thin air just to make a point that you decide who lives and who dies. And the only way diapers, bandages and canned peas can be ‘a threat’ is if you don’t want the recipients to use them.

Complexities of having family spread over three countries: I just spent the morning comparing nappy brands and features because, turns out, Pampers Baby Dyr are not the same everywhere despite having the same name and packaging.

Has anyone else become *way* more conscious about travel destinations in the last 2/3 years? I went from literally only having China and North Corea on my "no fly" list to a list of 10+ countries where I wouldn't feel safe / wouldn't consider getting back home back a given.

Same here. I've literally read 5 pages of theory on this just two weeks ago and only now I get it.

How can be allowed to blackmail che world and his own country like this is beyond me. In another post he said either NATO joins his war or he conquers Greenland.

Giorgio Bonfiglio @grg.pw · 16/03/2026

Update: he ‘won the war’ on day 1 and ‘destroyed 100% of their military capabilities’ on day 5 but it’s day 15 and he’s still bombing and asking the allies (the ones he didn’t need) for help.

Trump and Netanyahu are going to nuke Teheran and there is nothing we can do to prevent it. An 80 and a 77 years old are defining the future we will live in, for reasons I can’t even begin to figure out.

Regardless of your political positions, if you are not disgusted by the US and Israel bombing a school you should prob do a morality check. (yes, yes, we know that based on Israeli intelligence there were terrorists and nuclear weapons in the basement...) www.theguardian.com/world/2026/f...

‘The most bitter news’: Iran reels as more than 100 children reportedly killed in school bombing

The building appears to be among many devastated in Trump’s ‘major combat operations’ as long expected attacks arrive

It's sad to see the US resorting to lies and strategies that so far we had only seen in dictatorships. This is there for everyone to see: - Trump, June 2025: "Iran's nuclear threat has been obliterated" - Trump, February 2026: "Iran was an imminent nuclear threat" Only one can be true. Pure logic.

Selling baby boy, in perfect esthetical conditions and good working order. The standby function never worked. Comes with original box but without instructions (we didn't get them either). Offers in DM.

I'm so tired I just stopped in front of our building's entrance door to let the person on the other side came through first - only to realise such person was my reflection in the glass panel. ...and it's just month three of being a parent.

🧵 Thread on beautiful data centers: MareNostrum 4 (Barcelona SCC): Often called "the most beautiful data center in the world," this facility is housed inside the Torre Girona Chapel, a deconsecrated 19th-century church. When fully installed, it will have a peak performance of 13.9 Petaflops.

I'm sure most of you already know this, but aws-news.com is the absolute necessary companion of each #reInvent. I use it to quickly skim through every single launch, and use both the unread filter and mark all as read function to make sure I don't miss any.

Two weeks into parenting, honest review: each individual event is less intense than a sev2, the big difference is that you’re always on-call either as primary or secondary. You can’t take time off, ever. Some stats, for number nerds:

You're making me consider returning the baby to be honest. Do they come with a satisfaction guarantee or some similar sort of warranty?

And more meaningful conversations (with the baby)?

How do a sev1 and a baby rank in terms of difficulty for an engineer? Asking for a friend who just got out of a day log call and who has a baby on the way.

I've this 20 years old slide by Jeff Dean making a point that "fault tolerant software is inevitable" - feels so strange there is still so much resistance today to this extremely simple principle.

Giorgio Bonfiglio @grg.pw · 23/06/2025

There likely isn’t a binary answer on what caused what, though. What is certain is that every generation which gets bombed will perpetuate the hatred. US and Israel basically just signed up for another 80 years of Iran hating the west (or some parts thereof).

000

Giorgio Bonfiglio @grg.pw · 23/06/2025

I keep looking at these headlines where the head of the pentagon gets debunked by the pentagon word by word and don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

010

Giorgio Bonfiglio @grg.pw · 23/06/2025

So true. Iran’s leaders hate the western world for no reason and we’re working hard to give them a good one. And wars only result in more extremism. This thing is so 360 degrees dumb I don’t even know where to start. Just hope the egos which had to be pumped up got effectively pumped up.

100

Giorgio Bonfiglio @grg.pw · 22/06/2025

The last seven days seem to be more about establishing their position as leaders than about removing a real threat to the world. The result is that the threat is now bigger than it was two week ago.

Giorgio Bonfiglio @grg.pw · 22/06/2025

I really hope, but strongly doubt, Netanyahu/Hegseth/Trump know what they are doing.

It's beyond me why/how most airlines don't allow you to save passenger information in your account, and require giant forms to be filled every time. Like, it's not that my birth date is gonna change anytime soon.

Our new report: local political parties are renting out office space to MPs — who claim the cost on expenses. But in most cases, they pay no tax on that income — or on rent from local businesses. We reviewed 630 sets of accounts. What we found is a systemic failure. 🧵

Fa male e a volte uccide l'innovazione.
