I swear, the Vodafone website was down every single time I needed to renew my plan in the last 8 years.

It's probably time to rotate this password...

Selling baby boy, in perfect esthetical conditions and good working order. The standby function never worked. Comes with original box but without instructions (we didn't get them either). Offers in DM.

One year of TV Licensing spam in a new build. They started 13 months before the flat found its first ever owner and 9 months before it even received a council tax band.

Two weeks into parenting, honest review: each individual event is less intense than a sev2, the big difference is that you’re always on-call either as primary or secondary. You can’t take time off, ever. Some stats, for number nerds:

Been stuck in my mind for 4 days now: this picture was taken in London, UK. Do defibrillators really run at 110V (requiring a transformer I guess) or did they run out of the right 230V labels?

Giorgio Bonfiglio @grg.pw · 23/06/2025

I've this 20 years old slide by Jeff Dean making a point that "fault tolerant software is inevitable" - feels so strange there is still so much resistance today to this extremely simple principle.

I keep looking at these headlines where the head of the pentagon gets debunked by the pentagon word by word and don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

I need an album "Fires in New Providence Wharf" at this point. Ps: can't we just ban any sort of smoking inside and outside blocks of flats?

Impose tariffs on everything from everywhere Cancel such tariffs except for China Also cancel tariffs for China’s main export …but sure, they know what they are doing.

We live in a parallel universe.

The plot thickens - LHR did have redundant power (3N), just for some reason didn’t use it. Curious to see what comes out of the inquiry.

The amount of payment methods available in Japanese shops is just incredible. You can pay with pretty much anything including public transport card.

The lengths Japan goes to keep cities clean leave me in awe:

I might have been wrong - reading stuff like this makes me suspect the US President is Vladimir Putin.

The Revolut logo just appeared on a building in the middle of Canary Wharf - this is indeed a prime location for a wannabe bank which alone will cementify their position as market leader in EU.

Delta just won me forever. 50mbps over THE ATLANTIC and for FREE? Wow.

Our captain just announced today’s DL1 to LHR on N860NW is his second to last flight - he’ll retire after returning to the US - and we’re all having a 😢 moment.

Good morning, London! The Elizabeth Line must be the most broken piece of technology delivered in the last 30 years. Luckily I left 30 mins early…

About to fly Eurowings for the first time ever and my memory is playing games. Also, worse than a 737 MAX with a good pilot.

2025 in IPv6 started with... a large CA removing IPv6 support for their services. (yes, removing, you've read it right!) knowledge.digicert.com/alerts/digic...

Welcome back to UK, I guess. What do we even pay the service charge for?

Alibaba is recommending I buy a tunnel boring machine and a morgue fridge. Wondering what's the plan behind...

This is sort of the predecessor of the 64x800 - bad picture but if you notice half of the ports have air vents up and down. They are the half 16 which do macsec. This device is used at the edge of AWS premises (ie az to az) so that traffic only leaves encrypted.

110

Giorgio Bonfiglio @grg.pw · 11/12/2024

This is the DWDM, or more properly a transponder (shifts 2x100G per module up to whatever channel you need and then they feed into a passive mux):

110

Giorgio Bonfiglio @grg.pw · 11/12/2024

Soo, this is 64x800G (used for now in the datacenter fabric):

110

Giorgio Bonfiglio @grg.pw · 11/12/2024

Defo a pattern - which I had not seen before (when this stuff used to happen on forums). See this user doing nothing for 10 months and then suddenly asking for money in multiple subs:

100

Giorgio Bonfiglio @grg.pw · 10/12/2024

31.50 USD gone, and I think I have my first scam pattern here. User is long standing but had been inactive for two months before reaching out for a loan. Clearly an hacked account.

130

Giorgio Bonfiglio @grg.pw · 09/12/2024

I'm taking bets on how much of this money comes back. It's all gone to Redditors with good karma / reputation / long standing accounts. I should be back to zero (no interest as said, I don't think it's legal here) by EoY!

Giorgio Bonfiglio @grg.pw · 07/12/2024

Please join me in celebrating my dear friend @beatrice456.bsky.social as the first spammer I’ve ever met on BSky! She’s (maybe he’s, not sure) single and keen to meet people either on Signal or Zangi (what’s this?)!

Last day of #reInvent! What’s your favourite launch so far? And the most forced mention of GenAI you have heard?

260

Giorgio Bonfiglio @grg.pw · 04/12/2024

Welcome to Ven… ah, no.

010

Giorgio Bonfiglio @grg.pw · 03/12/2024

This is quite a creative dessert!

AWS’ in-house DWDM gear - someone has to carry those bits!

4100

Giorgio Bonfiglio @grg.pw · 03/12/2024

This 64x 800G router has quite an heatsink! (also - woah - this is more throughput than a fridge-sized CRS from 10 years ago)

0131

Giorgio Bonfiglio @grg.pw · 01/12/2024

Traditional photo taken, so we can declare AWS re:Invent 2024 officially open I guess?

0100

Giorgio Bonfiglio @grg.pw · 30/11/2024

Almost packed and ready for #reInvent! It's gonna be a fun week! (this is how many updates it took me and Gavin to get to an hopefully good version of our session ARC207 - "The incident is over: Now what?")

India - what's strange is they are all located in an extremely small geographical area. Which makes me suspect the spam company is somewhere there in the middle.

120

As @inarad.bsky.social correctly pointed out - who the hell would put their coffee machine in that position?
