Finished this National Parks themed Atlas Zipper Case for a friend over the long weekend. This case has been really popular with my friends as it has 5 pockets! Pattern by Center Street Quilts.

At long last my Northerly quilt is complete! I’ve been on a long sewing break since the big ice storm power outage knocked the wind out of my sails. So, it felt good to finally bind this. This gorgeous pattern is by Heck Yes Sew Co. and the amazing longarm quilting is by Stitch Lab Quilting.

I finished this audiobook today and found it so thoughtful and refreshing. I really appreciate how Andrew presents proposed legislation. It felt like going back to law school in the best way! We definitely need more of these forward thinking solutions to help save our democracy.

Dogwood Blossom - April 8, 2009 - We are enjoying a bit of dogwood winter here in Nashville with chilly mornings. It's the perfect time of year before it gets too hot and buggy.

Sara at Stitch Lab Quilting just sent me a photo of my longarmed Northerly Quilt. Pattern by Heck Yes Sew Co.; panto is Mexican Tile by Karlee Porter. There’s so much negative space I wanted the quilting to really sparkle in those spaces.

It was a total of 80 hrs w/o power. So grateful for my gas fireplace. We lost water for about 72 hours, but it's back as well. I missed 50 hours of work. That's gonna hurt, but there are so many still w/o power & the ability to work. Here are some photos from the archives from Januarys past for tax.

Well, we were just told to evacuate the property because they are shutting off the water to the entire complex. I found a hotel through Saturday afternoon. This is so frustrating. Grateful to have a place to go but tired and frustrated.

72 hours without electricity. Today’s my last day of UPS power. The apartment complex LOST the keys to my garage. They don’t allow residents to have a copy of the key only the remote. So, I can’t access my car until the power is back. Still have my gas fireplace & plenty of food. I’m ok. Zoey’s ok.

57 hours without electricity. Last night was absolutely brutal. It got down to 5° outside. Fireplace is still working though. So staying relatively warm. No end in sight.

33 hours with no power. Even though it’s 18°F some stuff is melting, which is great. Tonight’s going to be the toughest night. 6°F low & then it gets above freezing Tuesday, which is when the pipes in the 3rd floor apt may decide to burst & flood my apt. Made a go bag & trying to stay positive.

17 hours without power here in Nashville. The trees finally stopped crashing down after nearly 24 hours of constant popping & avalanche noises. Fingers crossed the winds don’t pick up tonight. Hopefully, we will get power back sometime tomorrow. 182k+ without power now down from 225k+ earlier today.
