I’m sitting in Lion Café in #MileEnd, having a coffee and reading the papers. This place would normally be bustling with passing trade from the local bus stop, but the stop is closed due to the Thames Water works that are now expected to continue until the […] [Original post on toot.community]

Such a lovely day to be out with our wonderful Green Party activists. This weekend, we delivered over 900 letters across Mile End Ward. And I see that I’ve taken more than 25,000 steps today. If you would like to get your steps in (and maybe help get Green’s […] [Original post on toot.community]

Yes. While it has been very windy in London, I’m not sure how that bike managed to get up there. It’s not even one of the new, lighter models. Incidentally, you can report abandoned bikes from all of the main dockless providers through the excellent […] [Original post on toot.community]

So it’s clear that people in #MileEnd want to be able to recycle clothes, but putting them in this bin will result in the whole bin contents being sent to landfill or for incineration. We need better recycling options in MileEnd.
Martin stands beside a purple dumpster filled with discarded items, including clothes and towels. Martin has a concerned look on his face.

Another strong day for green energy in Great Britain 🇬🇧⚡️ Global events are a clear reminder: energy security means moving faster, not slower, on decarbonisation. Clean power isn’t just good for the planet — it’s critical for our independence and resilience.

🌿🏃‍♂️ Great morning at the Mile End Park Run with Jürgen, fellow Tower Hamlets Green local election candidate. Despite a late start caused by a tree being felled, it was a brilliant way to begin the day in such a supportive community atmosphere. Even if […] [Original post on toot.community]

I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time to get a bike locker — but safe storage in Mile End shouldn’t come down to luck. Demand for properly secure cycle parking is far greater than what’s available. Anyone who’s had a bike stolen knows how […] [Original post on toot.community]

Yesterday was #WorldWaterDay. Here in London, Thames Water has let assets gifted to it fall into catastrophic disrepair. We suffer from low water pressure, sewage in our waterways, and a future of ever-increasing bills to satisfy loans used to pay dividends […] [Original post on toot.community]

Impressive that over the last day, nearly 70% of our electricity in the UK has come from renewables, reducing our reliance on imports of gas and nuclear material and reducing our production of carbon dioxide. Credit to @katemorley for the wonderful graphs at grid.iamkate.com
