Tower Hamlets Green Party are deeply concerned by the election of Abul Monsur. Antisemitism has no place in Tower Hamlets. Abul Monsur should stand down and a by-election called.

New polling data from the LSE puts the Greens *far ahead of Labour* in Tower Hamlets. Aspire's split vote with the Independents could lead to a shock Green victory.

I’m sitting in Lion Café in #MileEnd, having a coffee and reading the papers. This place would normally be bustling with passing trade from the local bus stop, but the stop is closed due to the Thames Water works that are now expected to continue until the […] [Original post on toot.community]

Of every three pounds you pay in bills to Thames Water, one is servicing the company's debts. Loans taken out while paying billions of your money to private shareholders. The company is barely a going concern (and certainly not if you consider the costs of fixing neglected infrastructure). The […]

Such a lovely day to be out with our wonderful Green Party activists. This weekend, we delivered over 900 letters across Mile End Ward. And I see that I’ve taken more than 25,000 steps today. If you would like to get your steps in (and maybe help get Green’s […] [Original post on toot.community]

So it’s clear that people in #MileEnd want to be able to recycle clothes, but putting them in this bin will result in the whole bin contents being sent to landfill or for incineration. We need better recycling options in MileEnd.
Martin stands beside a purple dumpster filled with discarded items, including clothes and towels. Martin has a concerned look on his face.

As a Green, I’m appalled by the damage private water companies are doing—but even if the environment isn’t your priority, they’re still ripping us off. Watch this excellent explainer by Kat at #WeOwnIt, then write to your MP: water should be nationalised, and Thames Water must not dodge […]

@breizh @katemorley You only need to import the materials once. Build a solar panel or a wind turbine, it pumps out units of power for free for decades. If it eventually breaks, much of the material can be recovered and recycled. For fossil fuels, you burn or react your fuel once and it is gone […]

Impressive that over the last day, nearly 70% of our electricity in the UK has come from renewables, reducing our reliance on imports of gas and nuclear material and reducing our production of carbon dioxide. Credit to @katemorley for the wonderful graphs at grid.iamkate.com
