GreenLines @greenlines.bsky.social · 22/07/2026Look at this fantastic proposal for Barkley Street, West Footscray. Nearly 1km of new protected bike lanes! www.yourcityyourvoice.com.au/barklyst 000
GreenLines @greenlines.bsky.social · 04/05/2026And hey, the train line has a buffer! I wonder how long that's been there. Surely it predates the new bike lanes project 000
GreenLines @greenlines.bsky.social · 04/05/2026We get one of those quirky footpath sections like on Park Street in South Melbourne. 100
GreenLines @greenlines.bsky.social · 04/05/2026Lowlight is this comically tiny bike lane across the Moonee Ponds Creek (which I understand is soon to become a single lane with sharrows) 100
GreenLines @greenlines.bsky.social · 04/05/2026The highlight is of course the relief of getting a good, wide bike lane in the reworked section. Could do with a bit of a sweep though. 100
GreenLines @greenlines.bsky.social · 04/05/2026Recently uploaded a Mapillary sequence of Macaulay Road, featuring lots of bad bike infrastructure and some glimpses of the new. OSM edits will soon follow, unless someone beats me to it. www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=17...mapillary.comMapillaryStreet-level imagery, powered by collaboration and computer vision. 100

GreenLines @greenlines.bsky.social · 14/12/2025Part 1 of Melbourne's Greenline linear park opened today! More of a revamp of Birrarung Marr than a new park. It nicely creates new public spaces using boardwalks that directly overlook the river, separate from the thoroughfare. The green part is a work in progress as most plants are still young. 010

GreenLines @greenlines.bsky.social · 30/04/2025Actually, the $3 million allocated to "Greenways" is likely to be the most impactful money, since I believe these are intended to be shared paths. 000
GreenLines @greenlines.bsky.social · 30/04/20252 million with a big bike logo in the Boroondara 2025-26 budget looks promising until you realise that it's 90% just regular footpath repairs. The separate $104,564 for "Bicycle Strategy Implementation" is more exciting but sadly not a lot of money. #localcouncil #boroondara 110
GreenLines @greenlines.bsky.social · 08/04/2025There were in fact some decent arguments supporting resident parking. This mostly illustrated non-bike-related issues such as the safety of walking on the street, the usability of the multistory social housing parking, and the lack of short term car parking especially for drop-offs. 000
GreenLines @greenlines.bsky.social · 08/04/2025Well, retention of the Richmond Elizabeth Street bike lanes lost the vote, meaning that they will be reduced from 2m and 2.3m to 1.5m and 1.7m. It seems unlikely that two people will be able to ride abreast or overtake now. 100

GreenLines @greenlines.bsky.social · 24/02/2025This is compelling data, but the histogram is a bit confusing. I guess small positive and negative numbers got binned into the same 0 bucket? Also do you have data for other building sizes in order to illustrate this sweet spot? 000
GreenLines @greenlines.bsky.social · 24/02/2025Dramatic decision from the new Boroondara council to not replace the Kew library. Arguments against the demolition: community sentiment towards the existing building, its good structural integrity, the >$20 million price tag and its larger size than the proposed building #boroondara #localcouncil 110
