If we are ever going to fix social care, we need to work across party lines. I've invited @AndyBurnham to sit down once he becomes Prime Minister, in hopes of finally solving this crisis which takes such a toll on families, our NHS and our economy. There is no time to waste.

Amazing! Love that moody mauve and the luminous, slightly harsh yellow. The contrast between the high rises and the tucked away arches is somehow so evocative of the different worlds that coexist in the city, oblivious to each other. Glad you persevered!

Interesting that people aren't convinced by PTC. Speaking from another perspective as someone who gave up meat in 1985, I have 2 barriers to choosing plant-based meat analogues. 1) They're ultra processed. Could this deter meat-eaters too? 2) The similarity to meat can be off-putting in itself!

Really enjoyed this! Hands-on, manual analysis with colour does it for me. After a recent switch to digital notes in Obsidian I'm already slightly anxious about managing without all the coloured pencils. It'll probably end up with notes being printed off...

Great article. Politicians might not like it, but it's time to recognise and grasp the potential of short form communication (despite the inevitable embarrassment). The example of Die Linke is an interesting one; Reichinnek's 40-second programme showed that short form doesn't need to be vacuous.

Don't know what the one start review is for, but I ordered a set of seasonal cards from your website last year and was really happy with everything. The shipping, the packing and above all the *lovely* images. Hoping to do the same again soon!

I recently returned to playing music after 40 years. It's been joyous and transforming in so many ways. Here's a blog post reflecting on that early music journey. Looking back I realise how privileged I was to have had that experience. #Music #Oboe #Musiciansky thegreenlefthand.net/2025/09/14/g...

giving up music – reflecting on a musical journey
Following a forty-year hiatus from playing music, I look back fondly at the instruments, joys and struggles on a musical journey.

Bit late to the party, but I enjoyed these very much. The tints in the shopping bag, kite and umbrella prints are particularly lovely. (The huddle of patterned umbrellas really made me smile!)

Have been prompted to age verify but didn't follow it up. I don't plan to use DMs for the foreseeable so it doesn't seem necessary but if that changes I'll go with the face recognition.

Thanks for posting this, because I did miss it! Ten very succinct and useful tips. I especially like the idea of using imagination and keying into emotions. Asking questions like 'what if?' and beginning with 'I wonder...'. And reflecting about how the research topic makes us feel. Thank you! 🙏

These are so fascinating. Top left is intense and dramatic; bottom left is fresh, softer and boasts a lovely red roundel. Torn between top and bottom right: colours in both are striking but harmonious, and there's interesting detail on the passengers in the foreground. Could look at these for ages!

Thank you so much for this workshop! It really helped focus on what the book should (and can't) be and the 'role models' exercise was a great idea. Looking forward to participating in one of the development courses when the project is a little further along.

Definitely a huge factor, but also the policy focus (rent, cost of living), door-to-door canvassing and Jan van Aken on numerous talkshows. All in all, a really focused, smart campaign.

Just the thought process behind this... And somehow mounting the pager on wood from a tree felled in the same country adds to the grotesqueness.

Hi Lucinda! Thanks for sharing your artwork -- I think you'll find this a safe and appreciative space. The artwork is intriguing. The colours and repeated geometrics are bright, vibrant, cheerful. But then the themes seem introspective, perhaps wistful. Really look forward to seeing more.

Elon Musk’s misinformation machine made the horrors of Southport much worse
The X owner’s commitment to free speech absolutism contributed to a whirlwind of false reporting around the perpetrator’s identity. Why does he seem to care so little about the truth?

I love Gail Brodholt's prints. They're of familiar places that often carry a lot of meaning for me. There's something about the colours and patterns, especially curves, in her work - the station and underground prints are outstanding. Hope to have an original one day, but it's so hard to choose...

Definitely! I recently found a LOR from over 20 yrs ago. It was never used: I couldn't afford/justify the application fee, especially as I felt the particular MSc was a bit of a long shot. But re-reading the LOR was deeply touching and surprisingly motivating. I barely recognised myself! 😉 #academia
